Wrexham make the top six after a 5-3 thriller with Ipswich, Coventry pull away from Boro at the top, Leicester are robbed of an escape from the bottom three in the 89th minute against Stoke.

We've had it all today but want a match with some finality to it?

Tomorrow Bramall Lane hosts the Steel City derby, giving Sheffield United the chance to doom Sheffield Wednesday to relegation once and for all (well, at least for next season).

It could be some miserable poetry... or it could be a victory the Owls will never forget. See you then!

    FT: Watford 2-0 Derby

    Watford

Watford head coach Ed Still spoke to BBC Radio Three Counties following his side's 2-0 win against Derby:

"It was to be able to start the game in the way that we did, to be able to score early and not step back too much after that.

"There was a phase in the first half where we were maybe a little bit too passive, but we managed to keep stepping forwards.

"Everybody had to make changes early in the game [after Giorgi Chakvetadze came on for injured Maamma], but seeing that the subs who came on stuck to the game plan was also great to see.

"It was special to be able to give the fans something to cheer about. We felt the energy and the support from kick-off all the way to the end so to be able to send everyone home happy and hopeful for the coming weeks is great."

Birmingham boss Chris Davies has been speaking to BBC Radio WM following their win against Norwich City that lifts them up to seventh place, just two points short of the play-offs.

“Yeah, you could say that’s one of our biggest wins of the season. It feels big and I’ve just been told it’s 2002 since the Blues last won here, which is incredible.

“I’m very pleased for the supporters that have travelled here and taken that home with them. I said to the players, it’s game by game, step by step, but that feels like a big step today.

“Norwich are in great form, they’re at home, their tails are up. I thought in the first half we were exceptional. We could have been, and should have been, out of sight because of the way we played.

“In the second half, we had to weather a bit of a storm and show the other side of football, the grit, the determination to keep the ball out of the net and we did that as well.”

Two away wins on the bounce for Pompey in London... Already excited for QPR away in March!

  5. Jones pleased with 'disciplined' Charltonpublished at 18:07 GMT 21 February

    FT: Southampton 1-1 Charlton

    Charlton Athletic

Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones has been speaking after his side's 1-1 draw at Southampton:

"These are a really good side at the level. After what they did to us at home, you know, when we were too open and gave up too many clear-cut chances, we knew we couldn't do that and we didn't.

"I thought we were really good defensively, very disciplined, could we have had a little bit more quality in transition, could we have built a little bit more?

"Because every time we did build or every time we secured the first or second pass, we actually got in. So I would have liked this to have been a little bit more.

"But on the scale of stuff, it's a good point."

I'm really liking the look of the Championship table this year, not the same merry-go-round of clubs going up and down. It's why I'm very excited about the EFL's proposals for a six-team National League-style play-off in the Championship, and I hope it gets voted through.

Derby County head coach John Eustace told BBC Radio Derby:

    “Very disappointed.

“There's not many games this season where I've felt the opposition have wanted it a bit more than us, and today they certainly wanted it more than us, which isn't what we're all about.

“I think that's why it's important in the Championship, there's always opportunities or moments that kick you and reset you.

“Obviously going into the top six last week, we're playing against teams now who want to get into that top six week in, week out, and we're playing against teams who want to stay in this league as well.

“If we're not at the levels required to compete, then we're going to get hurt like we did today.”

  9. 'Middlesbrough are as good as it gets'published at 17:54 GMT 21 February

    FT: Middlesbrough 0-0 Oxford

    Oxford United

Oxford United boss Matt Bloomfield told BBC Radio Oxford:

"I'll be honest with you, at Coventry I was grateful for the point. Today, I was a bit disappointed that we haven't got ourselves ahead [by] one, maybe even two, in the game.

"I think Middlesbrough are as good as it gets in the league. They are brilliant, the way they move the ball, some of the players they have got are fantastic. They are going to have spells of chances and we had to maybe ride our luck at times.

"I'm actually thinking that was a different performance to Coventry because we imposed ourselves on the game today, especially in the first half.

"That's two good performances in a row and two good performances where we can go after more."

"We knew that was going to be the game. If we score early, it could open up a little bit. We didn't, they had some chances in the first half, they could have scored.

"We had some chances through the game, especially in the second half.

"At the end it's 0-0, there's no goal, you have to take the point and move on."

Just thinking that it's definitely time for Man U to make an approach for K. McKenna... He's now got more experience and would do a good job for them. Think they'd get him cheap too...

    Terry, Suffolk

The arrogance of Ipswich to say they're building for a Prem return. Current team is worse than the team that got relegated. Wrexham have out fought and bought better than Ipswich. McKenna has been found out.

    Jamie, Norfolk

Do I sense a hint of unhappiness here given than Ipswich are eight points behind second-placed Middlesbrough, albeit with two games in hand?

Are Town fans starting to get restless with McKenna following relegation last season?

Stoke City boss Mark Robins has been speaking to BBC Radio Stoke after his side rescued a late 2-2 draw against Leicester after a late equaliser from Ben Wilmot:

"I thought in the first half we battered them and really dominated the game and only got one goal to show for it where we could have had two or three, and should have had two or three, the dominance we had was outstanding,

"They go on top in the game and they score two really poor goals, and you just know that that's coming, we lost control of the game, we win the ball back and then turn it over too quickly,

"We had some players that just couldn't reach the energy level in the second half that they demonstrated in the first half and that's sometimes natural but we have some issues within the camp that zaps energy."

New Leicester City boss Gary Rowett has been speaking to BBC Radio Leicester after he marks his first game in charge with a late 2-2 draw against Stoke after the side come back from 1-0 down to lead the contest 2-1.

"I don't think the second half was chaotic, I think the first half [was] of course.

"The challenge for us at the moment is to get a squad back that's looking healthy enough to make different changes for different games in different moments. But up until then we have to work with the players that we have.

"I thought we conceded so early from a cross, I know that's been a bit of an Achilles heel chatting to the guys. To go 1-0 down rocked the lads a little bit.

"I was disappointed with the first 30 but I understood it. I thought we showed a lot of bravery in fairness to get to 2-1."

    • Oxford United have kept a clean sheet in each of their last two away Championship games, more than in their first 15 on the road this term (1). Indeed, it’s the first time the U’s have recorded successive away shutouts in the second tier since November 1997.
    • Portsmouth have won back-to-back away games in the Championship for the first time since February 2011, while they recorded their first victory at Millwall since October 2010 (1-0).
    • Hull City’s Paddy McNair scored just his second own goal in the top four tiers (251st appearance), after also doing so for Sunderland against Manchester City in August 2016 in the Premier League.

Gerhard Struber's Bristol City have dropped off the pace in the play-off race after defeat to Swansea followed a draw with Wrexham earlier this week.

"We expected a difficult game, that was crystal clear. But at the same time, we have to have a different determination in the final third," Struber told BBC Radio Bristol.

"They had one chance and they used it. We controlled the game in a good way but we need a different determination in the final third.

"We had big chances. We have to use them. Everything is really close, every game has its moments. In these moments, we have to be ready."

Swansea head coach Vitor Matos has been speaking to BBC Sport Wales following his side's win against Bristol City.

"Bristol City is a really good team, well organised, they are good on counter press as well. Today I think they were a little bit more aggressive than normal, man-marking high up the pitch and that sometimes makes the game unpredictable and hard to control.

"We found a way to be in the opposition half. I think that was quite important for us, to have moments of good spells with the ball. In one of those moments, we score.

"Then we went back, [had] good organisation. It was a really important game in terms of second balls, because Bristol is massive on that.

"Then second half was a different game. In the moments where Bristol was pushing, we were able to stay organised, concentrated, and with time, we found again ways to come back. It was a really tough game but we could get to three points today."

I know it's easy to say that Wrexham have bought their way up, but you only have to look at Liverpool's season to know that it doesn't guarantee success.

    Dave, Manchester

Is it bad that I don’t want Wrexham to go up because it will utterly destroy the fairytale when they get slammed next season? No way can they stay up so maybe consolidate first.

    Oli, Milton Keynes

Wimbledon were a fairytale, Wrexham's rise is heavily funded.

QPR's win against Hull was their first in three games. Boss Julien Stephan spoke to BBC Radio London after the full-time whistle:

“We have to congratulate the players because I think they did a very, very good game," he said.

"Top discipline on the pitch, fantastic commitment and quality with the ball to use the space.

“Good maturity as well, because in the 10 minutes after we concede the goal, we felt it was a bit more difficult for us but we managed quite well the situation.

“I think it was very good in the second half, how the players managed the match. High press, they recovered some good balls, good pressure on the opponent, so I think the players deserve the credit for this win, so we have to congratulate them.

Hull City boss Sergej Jakirovic has been speaking to BBC Radio Humberside after his side fell off the pace of the top three with a 3-1 defeat to QPR.

“Bad game for us, especially the last 10 minutes. We lost our balance and discipline on the pitch.

“We conceded a really cheap goal from the corner, the from a throw in, there is nobody on the midfielder and it is unacceptable.

“Because when we are in the attacking phase, we don’t have too much space and we cannot turn with the ball.

“We entered very well the game, until the first goal which we conceded from the corner, which is for me unbelievable.

“We equalised and had some good decisions with the ball. After the substitutions we can put them under more pressure, but the second goal is thoroughly unacceptable.

“I’m very angry because they didn’t create these chances, QPR. We created those chances."
