1. Good nightpublished at 23:02 GMT 11 February

We'll wrap up the updates here, while you continue watching Sportscene.

Late goals made the difference, with Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain getting the winner for Celtic and Motherwell grabbing an equaliser for 10-man Motherwell at home to Rangers.

It leaves Rangers five points behind Hearts, with those two meeting at Ibrox on Sunday.

Celtic are one point adrift of Rangers with a game in hand on the top two.

  2. Robinson laments 'really poor defending'published at 22:58 GMT 11 February

    FT: Kilmarnock 4-3 St Mirren

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Sportsound: "If you concede four goals you’re not going to win games of football. If you score three goals you should win the game, never mind take a point.

"The defending was really, really poor. They didn’t have to work for any of the four goals and that’s the frustrating bit.

"If people score very good goals against you, then that’s fine. The first one we don’t defend the back post properly and fill gaps. The second one we got outmuscled. The next two are long balls over our defence and we don’t deal with runners.

"I thought we showed a good reaction second half, changed the shape and got back into it. But we got undone.

"At the moment when we lose a goal we seem to lose another straight after. We have to work hard to fix that."

  3. 'It could have been a lot more' - McCannpublished at 22:57 GMT 11 February

    FT: Kilmarnock 4-3 St Mirren

Kilmarnock manager Neil McCann tells BBC Radio Scotland Sportsound: "There’s so much to like about the performance. There was a lot of guts in there.

"We went 1-0 down, and then St Mirren scored early in the second half and you wonder if that’s going to take the sting out of us a wee bit. But they didn’t and they went again.

"It could have been a lot more, in my opinion. I know the 4-3 scoreline looks tight but we fully deserved the three points and probably should have won by a couple more goals.

"Tyreece John-Jules has just started to elevate his performances because he’s had a good run in the team after not playing a lot of football.

"I’m so happy for him that he’s got the match ball. Though I had a wee moment of worry after his third goal when he was doing back flips. I’m not going to have too much of that."

  4. 'Delighted with where we are' - McGlynnpublished at 22:54 GMT 11 February

    FT: Falkirk 1-0 Dundee

Falkirk manager John McGlynn tells BBC Scotland: "Horrible night for watching football, the wind blowing the ball all over the place.

"But I thought the teams put on a good show. We got the all-important goal and we got a bit of fortune when Dundee missed the penalty right at the end. I said to the players before the game it might have been a toss of the coin."

On goalkeeper Scott Bain: "He picked up a bug, went out for the warm up and was feeling ill. Delighted for Nicky [Hogarth] to keep a clean sheet. He played a big part in that and did the job tonight.

"We felt 40 points this season would keep us up. Without getting carried away, I think we'll stay up.

"We're absolutely delighted with where we're at. It's beyond our expectations but we're enjoying it."

  5. 'Sensational from start to finish' - Askoupublished at 22:52 GMT 11 February

    FT: Motherwell 1-1 Rangers

Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou tells BBC Scotland: "We are happy that we fought our way back with one man down and got a goal, but it was fully deserved.

"When you look at the game, the performance was sensational from start to finish. The dominance we showed in possession, twice the touches in the opposition box as Rangers... It was a performance that got people out of their seats.

"Had we been 11 v 11, maybe we'd have had even more to push with at the end. Fair enough, it's the right decision to send Lukas [Fadinger] off. If you ever get a red card, then it has to be in a situation where you do everything you can to stop a counter attack, with no bad intent.

"A lovely game of football, which I feel we played a very big part in."

  6. 'Red card not always an advantage' - Rohlpublished at 22:50 GMT 11 February

    FT: Motherwell 1-1 Rangers

Rangers head coach Danny Rohl tells BBC Scotland: "The first 10 minutes we were very strong, we played fantastic football for the goal, it was outstanding.

"Then Motherwell did really well and we struggled in our pressing. At half time, we had to adjust some parts and we were much more organised.

"We had moments where we had to make it 2-0. Even in the first half, they had more ball possession but we had a big chance. Finally, there's the red card. It is not always an advantage because you know they'll go direct.

"It hurts today. We have to accept it, move forward.

"When you have a red card and you're 1-0 down, you have nothing to lose. We should not look for too many draws, it's about winning games to close the gap."

  7. Bartley tight-lipped on McKaypublished at 22:47 GMT 11 February

    FT: Celtic 2-1 Livingston

Livingston boss Marvin Bartley hints that work is going on trying to recruit a free agent or two, but will only rule out pulling out the boots himself when asked if former Rangers and Hearts winger Barrie McKay is on the verge of joining.

  8. 'We will not give up' - Bartleypublished at 22:44 GMT 11 February

    FT: Celtic 2-1 Livingston

Livingston boss Marvin Bartley tells BBC Scotland: "Gutted. I'm upset for the players but I'm also proud of them. The effort was magnificent to a man and I'm hurting for them because we were so close to picking up a vital point.

"The quality Celtic are bringing off the bench is huge, but we matched them in terms of effort. We just weren't able to hang on at the end.

"We knew what we were going to face. The players stood up to them for long periods and stayed in the game. We got the penalty and Scott Pittman has a big chance as well.

"We can do it. Until it's mathematically impossible we will not give up. Can we narrow the gap before the split? Then you're playing the teams around you and those games are huge.

"I've seen more than enough from the players to know they can do it. We need to start picking up points as quickly as possible now."

  10. Oxlade-Chamberlain can be 'big asset' - O'Neillpublished at 22:40 GMT 11 February

    FT: Celtic 2-1 Livingston

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill starts by telling BBC Scotland about his emotions when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored: "Naturally delighted. I was relieved that that was going to hopefully be the winning goal, scored by a very, very fine player.

"He had a choice of a lot of teams. He's decided to come up here and help us out. He's done more than that, he's got us three points on the board.

"We reached that situation because we missed a lot of chances and their goalkeeper played very well. There must have been four chances before we scored. We needed a second goal because Livingston - who played very well - could get back into the game.

"Of course, they do equalise and we're pressing and pressing. We didn't look like we were going to get any reward at all and Alex scores this brilliant goal. When it left his foot, I could see it going in and that was a real delight.

"He's been a really fine player in his career, an excellent career. It's just a matter of him getting up to speed and I think that will come. He's naturally fit and hopefully he will be a big asset to us.

"I think there will be twists and turns in the rest of the season. Hearts are in a very strong position and we've been chasing since I've come in, first and second time. We kept ourselves in the hunt tonight."

  11. Falkirk surpass expectationspublished at 22:36 GMT 11 February

    FT: Falkirk 1-0 Dundee

Falkirk boss John McGlynn has a chuckle as he tells BBC Scotland: "I think we might stay up."

He says his pre-season target was 40 points.

They have 39 after 26 games.

  12. 'We have so much work ahead of us' - Pressleypublished at 22:34 GMT 11 February

    FT: Falkirk 1-0 Dundee

Dundee manager Steven Pressley tells BBC Scotland: "Considering the conditions, the players attitude towards the game was amazing. We controlled long periods, found ourselves in really good areas, but it's been the story of late - we just need to find that final action.

"We had the penalty in the final minute but no criticism of Yan Dhanda - he's been an outstanding performer and gives so much to the team.

"The truth is, we've never thought we are out of this [relegation fight]. I've reminded the players constantly we have got so much hard work ahead of us.

"We have to get the end product which is the only thing missing from our performance."

    FT: Falkirk 1-0 Dundee

    Tony Docherty
Former Dundee manager on BBC Scotland

That's six wins in nine for Falkirk. They're showing their top-six credentials.

They managed the game well and the defence was superbly marshalled by Liam Henderson.

  14. 'Instant impact from Oxlade-Chamberlain'published at 22:27 GMT 11 February

    FT: Celtic 2-1 Livingston

    Michael Stewart
Former Hearts & Hibs midfielder on BBC Sportsound

It was a class goal from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Just a calm, composed, quality finish.

He's not played since May and you're thinking - is he going to be able to have an impact? And what an impact he's had already.

  15. 'Celtic just get away with it'published at 22:25 GMT 11 February

    FT: Celtic 2-1 Livingston

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

Just when Celtic again looked as if they were going to drop points, up stepped Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. It was a great goal, he just let the ball run across him, took a touch and bent it round the goalkeeper.

Celtic were running out of ideas, very predictable, just playing it across, hoping rather than making it happen. And they just get away with it right at the end.

Livingston just sat in and looked very comfortable. They worked really hard defensively, frustrated Celtic and frustrated the crowd.

What a huge three points it is for Celtic. They'll be relieved.

  16. Looking bleak for Livipublished at 22:22 GMT 11 February

    FT: Celtic 2-1 Livingston

Losing to a late goal always stings and Livingston were convinced they had a strong claim for a penalty right on the final whistle...

That's 24 league games without a win for the league's bottom side since the second weekend of the season and they are now nine points adrift.

It's not the worst sequence in the top flight though...

TV match commentator Al Lamont tells me Morton hold that unwanted record from 1987-88 with a sorry sequence of 28 games.

Has the on loan Celtic player just scuppered Rangers title chase? Motherwell showed again that they are in the mix. Totally deserved at least a point from the game.

    Walter

Danny Rohl got the team selection wrong tonight. Should have played with strongest team. Skov Olson Should have been on from the start.

    Steven

Rangers didn’t even deserve a point tonight, very negative, can’t be playing 5 at the back against 10 men. Rohl got it wrong tonight

    David

Sunday shaping up to be a pivotal day in the league. Some big points to play for

  18. 'Hearts game a must-win for Rangers'published at 22:18 GMT 11 February

    FT: Motherwell 1-1 Rangers

    Derek Ferguson
Former Rangers midfielder on BBC Sportsound

I think this is a good point for Rangers. Because this is a Motherwell side that have been absolutely flying and they've shown different sides to their game tonight, down to 10 men.

The Rangers players might have just thought 'we've got this, this game's dead and buried'. But you can never think like that.

The first half was breathless. At times, Motherwell were excellent and Rangers defended ever so well.

I think it is a pretty good point but as Danny Rohl mentioned, there's a massive game on Sunday [against Hearts] and that starts to look like a must-win.
