  3. What's the Championship spend this window?published at 15:41 GMT

    Deadline day

    Paul MacDonald
    FootballTransfers.com

We're currently at £39.5m spent in this window with Birmingham being the most active; their acquisitions of Carlos Vicente and August Priske for a combined £13m has been the standout spend of the window.

This level is slightly above what most Championship clubs spend in January with the exception of January 2025, when £86.1m was the record outlay in winter.

Including business conducted in the summer that would take transfer spend in the Championship for 25-26 to £349m, easily the record for spending in a single season, surpassing, unsurprisingly, 24-25 which was £317m.

And that's of course before any additional business to be completed today.

It's worth remembering that Birmingham have also completed a permanent deal for winger Patrick Roberts so far today.

    Watford

Can't see Watford bringing in anything other than a token Udinese loan. Gracia quit because the owner simply refuses to spend the money required to push the squad into the play-offs. Can see our best assets being prised away in the summer. Frustrating.

It's good business that we have signed Patrick Roberts permanently, all we need now is a left sided centre-half to complete our winter wonderland.

    Graham, Birmingham

Paddy Roberts, Vicente, Osman, with Dimmy Gray and Scott Wright coming back from injury too. Those wide options are looking good.

Hope Adam Armstrong has a successful medical if he goes to Wolves, apparently had 'a knock' at the weekend.....

    Stuart, Brockenhurst

Sad to see Armstrong go. He has been our talisman in recent years. Wishing the incoming players well, but I can’t understand why we are not considering proven players. We rely too much on foreign players who we hope make an instant impact. Not fair on them and unhelpful with the team and the player’s development.

    Deadline day

    Norwich City

    Rob Butler, BBC Radio Norfolk:

Norwich City look set to bolster their midfield options with QPR's Sam Field close to signing on loan.

The Canaries are desperate to bring in cover for influential midfielder Pelle Mattsson, who is out for several weeks with an ankle injury.

Field can also operate as a left-back which will be useful following the news that January loan signing Harry Amass could be on his way back to parent club Manchester United.

Amass sustained a serious hamstring injury in training last Friday and missed the 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.Striker Josh Sargent could still leave the Canaries in the coming weeks with MLS team Toronto his preferred destination and that league's transfer window is open until 26 March.

    Deadline day

    Oxford United

Oxford United are still talking to players about joining their Championship relegation scrap or potentially heading out of the door for pastures new, according to boss Matt Bloomfield.

The U's are preparing for their match at Sheffield United tomorrow night having added defender Christ Makosso from Bloomfield's former club Luton at the weekend:

"There are certainly conversations going on behind the scenes," Bloomfield told BBC Radio Oxford in his pre-match press conference.

"I don't want to put my name to the mast and then something doesn't happen.

"We don't want unhappy players being here and not in the 25-man squad, it's not what I want for them as individuals or for us as a group."
