  1. Bye for nowpublished at 21:57 GMT 21 February

That's all from us after a long day in the Scottish top flight and we finish with a flourish - for Motherwell at least.

In a downpour in Paisley, they rained on St Mirren's parade with a flood of goals to keep their fairytale season going.

Now four points behind third-top Celtic, who play tomorrow along with second-top Rangers.

You can catch up with the highlights on Sportscene on BBC One Scotland at 22:25.

While you're waiting for that, you can read the match report.

Earlier, Hearts went five points clear at the top by beating Falkirk.

Dundee added to Aberdeen's woes and Kilmarnock grabbed a point away to Dundee United.

Join us tomorrow for more live Premiership action. Meanwhile, watch out for manager reaction from Paisley on the St Mirren and Motherwell club pages.

  2. Clean sheetspublished at 21:47 GMT 21 February

    FT: St Mirren 0-5 Motherwell

St Mirren had kept a clean sheet in four of their latest five games, but the roof well and truly fell in tonight.

Motherwell have now kept 12 clean sheets and conceded just three goals in their last 15 league games.

They have now lost only three league games. Only second-top Rangers have lost fewer.

  3. Sweet revengepublished at 21:44 GMT 21 February

    FT: St Mirren 0-5 Motherwell

Jens Berthel Askou said before kick-off that "we still have that little bit of feeling of revenge" after they were beaten 4-1 by St Mirren in the League Cup semi-final earlier this season.

Well, the Motherwell manager got it in style - hardly the tight contest we were expecting.

They are now unbeaten in their latest four visits to SMiSA Stadium, all without conceding a goal, and have suffered just one defeat in their last 12 league visits.

  4. Well outsiders for title?published at 21:40 GMT 21 February

Former Hibernian & Dundee United midfielder on BBC Sportsound

That type of performance can really kick you on.

The only thing is, they are running out of games.

If they win their game in hand, they are seven points behind Hearts and they still have Rangers and Celtic to play as well.

It is a big ask for Motherwell to be in a title push, but you can't rule them out on a performance like that.

  5. Pressure on Robinsonpublished at 21:37 GMT 21 February

    FT: St Mirren 0-5 Motherwell

    Leanne Crichton
Former Scotland international on BBC Sportsound

For St Mirren, it is going to heighten the pressure on Stephen Robinson is probably already feeling.

I still don't see them being a side that will be relegated.

Something has to change and it will be interesting to see how they respond.

  6. St Mirren still safe from relegation?published at 21:37 GMT 21 February

    FT: St Mirren 0-5 Motherwell

    John Rankin
Former Hibernian & Dundee United midfielder on BBC Sportsound

For the morale of St Mirren, it will not do any good at all.

I don't think they will go down automatically, but the goal difference brings the play-offs into play.

It is a big swing towards Kilmarnock.

But, with the personel that St Mirren have, I don't see them in the play-offs.

  7. 'Wonderful performance'published at 21:33 GMT 21 February

    FT: St Mirren 0-5 Motherwell

    Leanne Crichton
Former Scotland international on BBC Sportsound

It was a wonderful performance from Motherwell.

Outstanding from start to finish considering that disappointing defeat in midweek and how energy sapping it would have been to go down to nine men.

This Motherwell side and the performances we have seen since the start of the season, they will go far.

  8. Contrasting fortunespublished at 21:29 GMT 21 February

    FT: St Mirren 0-5 Motherwell

Motherwell move to within four points of third-top Celtic, who play tomorrow.

Meanwhile, St Mirren end the day only two points clear of second-bottom Kilmarnock.

  9. FULL-TIME St Mirren 0-5 Motherwellpublished at 21:25 GMT 21 February

A peep from the referee's whistle puts an end to St Mirren's misery as Motherwell secure their biggest win of the season.

Elijah Just, Tawanda Maswanhise and Ibrahim Said put the visitors in control before Richard King was sent off the 10 men conceded two more courtesy of Emmanuel Longelo and Eythor Bjorgolfsson.

Superb performance from the fourth-top visitors.

We are into four minutes of stoppage time.

Not that Motherwell need them or St Mirren want them.

  12. Postpublished at 87mins

    St Mirren 0-5 Motherwell

Motherwell continue to press and St Mirren must be hoping the final moments pass as quickly as possible.

A large section of the home support have already given up the ghost and gone home.

    St Mirren 0-5 Motherwell

It's relentless pressure as Motherwell continue to press.

A long range Callum Slattery strike is held by goalkeeper Shamal George at the second attempt.

Plenty of substitutions from both managers.

However, they are pretty meaningless in terms of the end result now.

Minutes in legs, saving others from injury, etc.

  16. 'Performance worthy of title contenders'published at 21:04 GMT 21 February

    St Mirren 0-5 Motherwell

    Leanne Crichton
Former Scotland international on BBC Sportscene

    It's unbelievable.

If any team had come to St Mirren, looking at how they've been over a number of seasons, if Celtic, Rangers or Hearts came here and are so dominant, ruthless and scoring with free-flowing football, you couldn't say they're not serious title contenders.

  17. 'St Mirren goalkeeper must do better'published at 21:00 GMT 21 February

    St Mirren 0-5 Motherwell

    John Rankin
Former Hibernian & Dundee United midfielder on BBC Sportsound

I don't think that goes over Shamal George. That goes through him.

Shamal George, that is nowhere near good enough for a goalkeeper at this level. He must do better there.

When you go a man down, you know you will concede chances and you need your keeper to make saves.

    Wow!

Eythor Bjorgolfsson has just come on as a substitute and the Norwegian forward bicycle kicks from a cross to the edge of the penalty box and it flies past home goalkeeper Shamal George.

From the corner, Alex Gogic rises six yards out, but the St Mirren defender's header is straight at goalkeeper Calum Ward.

    The Cypriot should have scored.

So close to a goal back for the hosts.

A great save from goalkeeper Calum Ward.
