Dom Ballard scored a hat-trick as Leyton Orient claimed victory at home to Reading.

Richie Wellens' side took the lead on the stroke of half-time after Ballard's right-foot shot from range flew into the bottom-left corner of the net – his 13th league goal this season.

The Royals responded well after the break and equalised when Jack Marriott fired home after being put through by Kamari Doyle in the 55th minute.

But Ballard scored his second goal 10 minutes later with a close-range header from Theo Archibald's cross to put the O's back in front.

And the striker completed his hat-trick when his effort from the centre of the box found the top-left corner five minutes from time.
