  1. 'Important day for everyone connected with Leeds'published at 20:02 BST

West Ham 2-2 Leeds (2-4 on penalties)

    Leeds United

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke, speaking to TNT Sports: "We always do it the tough way, never the easy way. A quarter-final away game against a Premier League side is never an easy ride. We could have made our lives easier. We showed great mentality and I am proud of the boys today with how we kept the nerves and won the game in the end. Pretty important day for everyone connected with Leeds United.

"To score two goals, we could have put the game to bed even a bit earlier. We had a late sucker punch when the whole stadium was buzzing. To keep the nerves and win the penalty shootout shows great mentality and character. A chapter of Leeds United history, we were in the semi-finals really a while ago."

On the 9,000 travelling fans now looking forward to a Wembley trip: "It will be a big night for us. It's a great step for this club and a great reward for everyone connected with this club. We are still buzzing but already looking forward to making sure we stay on a good path in the Premier League."

  2. 'You never want to miss penalties'published at 20:00 BST

FT: West Ham 2-2 Leeds (2-4 on penalties)

    West Ham United

West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen speaking to TNT Sports: "Gutted. It hurts a lot after being 2-0 down. I missed and I can only apologise to everyone involved for that. You never want to miss penalties but I have today and I have to face that. It doesn't define who I am but I have to stand tall from that. We did a lot of good things in the game but it wasn't to be.

On the performance: "In the first half, we had a few good opportunities, the keeper made a great save from Taty [Castellanos] and from me. Our shape probably wasn't good enough and we tweaked a few things. At 2-0 down you have to go for it. We thought we would go on and win the game but it wasn't meant to be."

"It has to hurt. We are hurt as a team. We have to dust ourselves down and get back into training tomorrow for the Wolves game on Friday because we know what we have to do."

  8. 'I made my mind up and put it in the back of the net'published at 19:52 BST

West Ham 2-2 Leeds (2-4 on penalties)

    Leeds United

Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk on scoring the winning penalty: "I can't say I practice too much but I've been in this situation before last season, so I made my mind up and put it in the back of the net."

On Lucas Perri saving two penalties: "Do I even need to speak about it? Already last time against Birmingham, he's a great goalkeeper and showed composure in the moments we needed him. Before in the game, he made some pretty good saves. Very happy to have him behind me."

On the mentality of the team after losing their two-goal lead: "It shows real, great composure afterwards with the penalties because I feel like, especially when we were 2-0 up in these kinds of moments, we need to see the game out, so we'll work on that, but we'll try and do that at Wembley."

  9. 'Magic of the cup'published at 19:48 BST

West Ham 2-2 Leeds (2-4 on penalties)

    Leeds United

Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri, speaking on TNT Sports about making it to the FA Cup semi-final: "Great. It's the magic of the cup we all talk about. It was a crazy game, incredible moments. We're so happy we won at the end of the game, penalty shoot-out and that's it. Now we're going to celebrate and keep going.

"We need to be prepared for everything and after they scored the first one, we knew they would come to attack to draw and force the game to extra-time. The beginning of the first half of extra-time was a situation of football and thank God that was offside. So happy that we won that match."

On making the semi-final: "It's going to be a massive game. Now we need to focus on the Premier League matches that we have. We need to secure the points we need to stay in the league, but when the time comes, we're going to focus 100% on the cup and hopefully have a good game."

The Leeds fans are the ones heading to Wembley after a quarter-final that had nearly everything.

At one stage, 20-year-old West Ham goalkeeper Finlay Herrick, in his first senior appearance for the club after a four-month loan spell at fifth-tier Boreham Wood earlier this season, looked like being the hero.

He saved from Joel Piroe, but Jarrod Bowen and then Pablo had their efforts stopped by Lucas Perri before Pascal Struijk kept his nerve.

What a match. Leeds advance, just about. Heartbreak for the Hammers. Leeds have a Wembley date to look forward to.

Great tie. Unbelievable tie. The penalty shoot-out, you've got to be big enough to go and have a shot, and they were all big enough.

It was two teams going for it and they're both out on their feet. I didn't want there to be a loser but there has to be a loser.

  13. Leeds' last semi-finalpublished at 19:39 BST

West Ham 2-2 Leeds (2-4 on pens)

The last time Leeds reached the FA Cup semi-finals was in the 1986-87 season.

In a dramatic tie at Hillsborough, Billy Bremner's side were dumped out by eventual winners Coventry City.

Dave Bennett popped up with an extra-time winner for the Sky Blues to seal a trip to Wembley for the final.

Daniel Farke's side will be hoping they can go one better this year.
