You cannot gleam too much from the table at this stage of the season.

But that result means West Brom are one of just three teams to win both of their first two games, alongside Millwall and Charlton.

The Baggies are up into second place, while Burnley are 18th.

    West Brom 3-1 Burnley

West Brom maintain their 100% start to the new Championship season with an excellent statement victory over Burnley.

That’s now just one defeat in their past 13 league games for Albion under James Morrison, who is continuing where he left off with the good work towards the end of last season.

It's a reality check for the Clarets, who are still yet to win since relegation from the Premier League.

I've got no problem with the first half. It was end-to-end and it was a cracking half of football.

But in the second half, you cannot play like this.

This doesn't look good for Jayson Molumby as he's carried off the pitch for Albion by the club physio.

Chris Mepham is on for about the last 30 seconds in his place.

West Brom take it into the corner to run down the clock.

Just over a minute to play now. It's all but done.

I'm relatively surprised Price is still at West Brom, an Everton return seemed to be on the cards earlier in the summer. Definitely top drawer Championship player, could he do the business in the Premier League?

  9. Postpublished at 90 mins

There's a bit of a scramble in the box from the Burnley corner but Albion just about get it clear.

The home side won't want a tense finale here.

Kyle Walker tries to loft one over the top for Burnley but that looked very much more in hope than expectation.

It runs straight through to Albion goalkeeper Max O'Leary.

Moments later, Aaron Ramsey has a shot from range deflected behind for the Clarets for a corner.

The ole's are coming out from the home support now as Albion knock it about with confidence and swagger.

Burnley very much back down to Earth now. This really is a proper welcome back to the Championship.

West Brom have just got to see this game out now. Keep possession of the ball and don't let Burnley have any strikes at goal.

Burnley win a free-kick and Jacob Bruun Larsen's effort from range is blocked.

It drops to Aaron Ramsey about 20 yards out and he tries to bend one in but it's just over the bar.

This could be an interesting season for the Baggies. When Heggebo is back they will have back-up on the bench for a change.

Can Nicky Hayen inspire another Burnley comeback from two goals down, as they did against West Ham last weekend?

It was about now they grabbed their first in that game. Time is running out...

    West Brom 3-1 Burnley

    David Unsworth
Former Burnley and Everton defender on BBC Radio Lancashire

West Brom's midfield is decent, their back line is distinctly average and I feel that Burnley just haven't pressed them.

I'm amazed that Marcus Edwards and Aaron Ramsey are still on the pitch. They've been passengers in a team that's not played very well.

There's a lot of work to be done at the end of this transfer week.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 82 mins

Another change for Albion as Rabby Nzingoula replaces 20-year-old Harry Whitwell, who had a very good game.

  18. Postpublished at 81 mins

    West Brom 3-1 Burnley

Burnley are playing more of the game in the West Brom half now and Albion have plenty to hold on to here.

A cross comes in from the left and almost comes to Zeki Amdouni at the back post but he can't quite meet it.

That's a bit of a half-chance wasted for the visitors.
