Fulham

Fulham boss Marco Silva, speaking to Sky Sports: "I really believe that we did prepare very well in that moment. Most of the time, we did very well. We wanted to block that strong run from Gabriel. That part cannot be opened. Sessegnon opened up a bit more and he went and jumped really high. Blocking the run of Gabriel was the key to more control.

"The first 20 minutes were very good for us. The reality is that the first chances were from ourselves. Very good chance for Tom Cairney and also Harry Wilson. The second half was more controlled by them than the first half. We tried to react from the bench to give more power in our attacking line. We tried after the VAR penalty decision but we tried to the end. Not creating big chances but we tried.

On Joachim Andersen injury: "It is a muscle injury. Something in his hamstring. We need to see if it's something more serious now. We miss the backline completely. That is our reality right now. Even Tom Cairney is feeling some problems in his back. It is coming one after the other. The international break didn't help. We don't have enough depth to deal with these moments. It is a difficult moment for us.

"It is everything together. When this type of moment happens with players injured, we have to keep calm enough to understand the moment and work with the players. The player has shown again tonight the great work ethic to do the things. The results will change, we just have to keep working hard."

Arsenal

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka, speaking to Sky Sports: "This season we beat Newcastle who we struggled against away in the past, so it is points that in recent seasons we haven't been picking up, so we are happy with this result.

"It was a tough start to the game but in my mind I want to get the ball and make things happen. I think had a good performance which I am happy with."

On set-pieces: "It is quite clear we are quite good at it. We have high standards for ourselves."

On the overturned penalty: "For me, it is a penalty. Of course I understand he touched the ball, but I feel a big contact on my right knee before he touched the ball. The decision has been made so I don't want to dwell on it."

Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "It is a really tough place to come, a really organised team and a really good manager who knows how to set up. When the context is 0-0 and the game gets longer and longer it becomes more difficult, but we showed a lot of maturity. we kept knocking on the door in various ways and in the end we find a way with the set piece to do it but we deserved it in the end.

"I don't think we conceded a shot on target, which tells you again how well we were organised. We had a spell in the first 10-15 minutes where we had a few giveaways and transitions and momentum to them without them really doing much. We have to keep going now. We have another big one on Tuesday, they are coming thick and fast."

On another clean sheet: "Yes that's what we need, but it's about the commitment from every single player and the enjoyment that they have to maintain that solidity and the foundation that we build for the team to compete against any opponent."

On Gyokeres not scoring: "He was very close today again, two or three times. We were all begging for him to score. The work rate he puts in for the team is phenomenal, so we try to give him support and love and it will come."

Fulham

Fulham midfielder Sander Berge, speaking to Sky Sports: "Tough to lose like that. I think we had momentum at times today - we were at it. Arsenal are a great team. They have shown that in the last couple of years and have probably got better.

"The pressure was too much and they got their goal. I think we didn't have the edge there to create what was needed. We have to move on and keep working.

"They're extremely good on their set-pieces we prepared well, but in the end we didn't manage to keep the goal out.

"We came out at half-time too deep. It is difficult to keep the clean sheet.

"We have been on an unfortunate run with injuries and have some key players out. I think everyone showed the strength of the squad today, even when we miss that many players we're still competitive and we can do a lot of damage to anyone in the Premier League."

Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports: "Very good, it is a really tough place to come. We have experienced that in the last few years. We put a lot into it - we had some giveaways in the first half, but we became more dominant throughout the game.

"The simplicity in certain aspects with the ball. We had to change the structure as well to facilitate as well that gave us fluidity. They have been together for many years, so they know how to adapt.

"It is very early in the season, but it is great [for Leandro Trossard] to be scoring in the goals. Another clean sheet which is good to see, so I am very happy."

On having a range of players: "A joy because that is what we want to be better as a team."

On the penalty: "Is it clear and obvious if it takes that long. I have just been told it wasn't a penalty, so they made the right call. I was surprised with how long the process took."

Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to BBC MOTD: "Never easy. You need to get everyone aligned and up to speed to come to a difficult place. We didn't win here in the last two seasons. They keep knocking on the door so I'm very happy.

"We gave the ball away a few times. Probably not the best emotional state in the first 15 minutes but we had to overcome that, that's football. Some great saves from them and some misses we had."

On Gabriel: "He is really aggressive, really determined. It's a collective effort. Everyone has their roles and we need to operate them."

On Leandro Trossard: "He's got that intuition to score the goals and that's what we want.

"The players are the options. Some players came in today. Nothing different to other top teams."

Mikel Arteta just had to jump off camera to have a sneeze during his Sky Sports interview. It does seem to be going around at the moment.

Since his Premier League debut in September 2020, Arsenal’s Gabriel has more goal involvements than any other central defender (20 – 18 goals, two assists), 17 of which have come from corners (16 goals, one assist).

Fulham

Fulham boss Marco Silva, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "When you lose a game, it is always a disappointing one. They were at a very good level. We did create chances to score before Arsenal. They were more on that than on ourselves. We knew it was not going to be easy, a tough team to play against but I think we kept them away from big chances in the game. After the goal, we did react and started to play more in our way again.

"Gabriel jumps so high, it's impossible to stop him. It's very difficult to control. The way we tried to block his run, most of the game, we did it very well. We were too open and left the path for Gabriel. We didn't want him to run in that part. Any flick is very difficult to control at the back post."

On Raul Jimenez: "It's crucial for us to have him. Last two games, we were playing without a striker. Last season, the strikers scored more than 20 goals. Raul didn't score tonight but his attitude was good. The injury to Andersen and Cairney with problems as well."

On links to Forest job: "I focus on the games and on what I can control. Nothing takes the focus from myself and what I want to do."

David Raya has more clean sheets in the Premier League than any other goalkeeper since his debut in the competition in 2021.
