Right, now you've heard from the key people involved, let's have a watch of some of the highlights shall we?

  8. 'I asked the players for a reaction and I got that'published at 23:26 GMT 7 January

    FT: Burnley 2-2 Manchester United

    Burnley

Burnley boss Scott Parker speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm pleased, positive. My overriding thoughts are that this game was about a reaction, coming off a poor performance against Brighton, and we needed a reaction tonight. While there are elements to our game tonight that you want to be better at and improve in. I asked the players for a reaction and I got every bit of that.

"Going 2-1 down in the second half at this moment, as a young team, that can be a hammer blow, a knockout punch, but our reaction was superb. We got ourselves back in the game and got a point, so overall it's positive.

"It speaks volumes of this group and us as a team. It is easier said than done to default o a position where you can respond an stand up and the team did that today against a quality side.

"We are full of endeavour, full of commitment, and of course you need more than that as a team but fundamentally it gives you a chance. That is what gave us a platform to come out of today with a point.

"You need to work and work and work to get points in this league. It's hard. Hopefully it is a learning for us all, certainly coming out of last week and again tonight, and we need to maintain that."

  9. 'A team full of character'published at 23:25 GMT 7 January

    FT: Newcastle 4-3 Leeds

    Newcastle United

Newcastle matchwinner Harvey Barnes speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I've always had a great record against them [Leeds] and I don't know what it is, I always seem to score and hopefully it doesn't stop.

"It was mad. It was weird, some good moments and then others when they were on top. Not performance-wise where we want it to be but we got back in the game and the finish to the game is incredible. We are a team full of character and you could see that towards the end."

On his goal: "It's a little bit of instinct, there's that much chaos in the box, it's just about finding that bit of composure and getting it towards goal. It's an important one. I'm delighted with that tonight."

  10. 'What the players are doing is incredible'published at 23:24 GMT 7 January

FT: Crystal Palace 0-0 Aston Villa

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner speaking to Sky Sports: "In possession we give the ball away without any pressure. We are crossing balls when nobody is in the box and we are not under pressure. [We need to] keep the ball and make something.

"The players tried everything and it will come, I am 100% convinced it will come, that we will be rewarded for this effort, this group of players deserve it.

"It was our 33rd game of the season and we could only make on substitution because we needed JP [Mateta] to defend set plays. When I see what the players are doing, it is incredible, huge credit to them."

  12. 'Season wide open for any team'published at 23:22 GMT 7 January

    FT: Newcastle 4-3 Leeds

    Shay Given
Former Newcastle and Man City keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Looking at the table, if you can put any sort of run together at all, three or four wins from six games, you are right in the mix for Champions League football. This season seems wide open for any team that is going to finish in those positions.

On a night the news [of his cancer diagnosis] broke about Kevin Keegan, one of the best managers Newcastle have ever had, 'the entertainers', for them to win 4-3 on the evening makes it even more special.

The fans were singing his name tonight. I'm sure Kevin, wherever he is in hospital, that will at least have given him some sort of smile on his face. We're all thinking about him and wish him well.

  13. 'Supporters sharing their frustration'published at 23:21 GMT 7 January

    FT: Bournemouth 3-2 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

More from Tottenham's Joao Palhinha, speaking to Sky Sports:

It looked like words were exchanged with fans after the game?: "No, it was just the supporters sharing their frustration. We of course understand. We respect and we are fighting for all the same.

"We want to win - not just the players. The staff and the supporters. We are trying to get the victories, in my opinion, we deserve the last few games. And it's tough to speak a lot about the momentum when you lose."

  14. 'I'm not scared of anyone'published at 23:20 GMT 7 January

    FT: Everton 1-1 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves goalscorer Mateus Mane, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was an amazing feeling. We deserved the three points. We've got to keep working and we go again on Saturday in the FA Cup.

"They had two red cards so we thought to attack them and put balls in the box. We did that but we were just unlucky not to get the goal."

On what Rob Edwards said at half-time: "He told us to keep going and the ball will come. He said work, run, attack.

"I feel like I had space between the defenders. I took a touch and slotted into the bottom corner.

"I'm not scared of anyone, I deserve to be here and I'm now I'm proving what I can do. He tells me to express myself and be brave one-on-one.

"We'll fight and whatever happens, happens. We want to stay in the Prem because it's the best league in the world."

  15. 'Very little positives'published at 23:19 GMT 7 January

    FT: Everton 1-1 Wolves

    Everton

Everton boss David Moyes said: "We started OK, we got in front and should have got further in front at the time."

On Michael Keane's red card: "It wasn't a deliberate action of pulling the hair. It certainly wasn't violent.

"If you have longer hair, then there's a fair chance you'll get it pulled. If you don't have it long then you won't get it pulled. This was done in an action in the game. Maybe if we all grow our hair longer, then we might get more red cards against us. It's not deliberate."

On Jack Grealish's red card: "Correct by the referee.

"We didn't play well and it meant that Wolves got better. They had something to chase. We were half holding on to it and should have got a second goal.

"Very little positives. We're short of players and we need these players."

  16. 'I'm disappointed we didn't win the game'published at 23:17 GMT 7 January

    FT: Burnley 2-2 Manchester United

    Manchester United

Manchester United striker interim boss Darren Fletcher, speaking to Sky Sports on how he feels about the result: "Disappointed we didn't win the game. We've done more than enough to win the game in terms of chances, shots, two cleared off the line. I'm not sure why the goal's disallowed for the foul with [Lisandro] Martinez, so 2-2 if you look at it with the context of everything it's disappointing."

On whether not winning after being 2-1 up makes it more frustrating: "For sure. When you get to 2-1 up you want to see out the game and try and score another goal. To be fair, Burnley, it's a great finish, there's not much we could do about it. To be 1-0 down in the first half to come out and show that character in the second half to go 2-1 up but then to concede and not be able to get a third goal and go on and win 3-2 that's the disappointment. The lads gave their all, the effort was there, the application was there. Trying to take on all the new ideas in a short a short space of time so I'm happy with their levels. I know they've got a lot more in them and more improvement to come.

"You can tell the players were used to playing in a different system for a while, so it's not easy to adapt so you can see the challenges that lie there but that's normal."

On how important scoring was for Benjamin Sesko: "He needed it massively. i spoke to him before the game and tried to reiterate what a good player he is and how much I've watched him over the years. We got the service in the box from him and it was great movement, made great runs and he took his two goals fantastically."

On managing Man Utd tonight: "It's an amazing experience. I'm disappointed we didn't win the game, I can't hide that, but in terms of the experience of leading the team out, preparing the team, the fans, the support everything, it was a pleasure, it was an honour."

On what happens next: "I've spoken to the board and I'll be in charge for the Brighton game and we'll take it from there. It's one game at a time."

  17. 'A crazy game'published at 23:15 GMT 7 January

    FT: Newcastle 4-3 Leeds

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I'm going to struggle to do it [to make sense of the game] because it was a crazy game. We weren't at our best today, Leeds played very well but we had a spirit and a togetherness and a fight that we were never out of the game. We kept going until the end and it's a great win.

"No Premier League game, as the table would show you, is easy this year and the win is a valuable result.

"Coming from behind, we haven't done that this season yet so that's a great thing to do. We have been on the rec end a couple of times this season and it really hurt so this is the better way to script it."

On Fabian Schar's injury: "Huge concern, I think it's quite a serious one, it's an ankle one. He's gone to hospital. He has been such a brilliant player for us."

  18. 'Keep supporting us - the wins will come'published at 23:14 GMT 7 January

    FT: Bournemouth 3-2 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham's Joao Palhinha, speaking to Sky Sports: "The fans are showing their frustration. We understand that. We are trying to get victories we should deserve in my opinion. It's tough to speak a lot about momentum because when you lose it just sounds like words.

"I just want to say keep supporting because the victories will come. It's frustration as I said. I felt we were the best team on the pitch. We were the only team on the pitch that wanted to win the game. Football is like that. Tomorrow is another day. We need to keep pushing. We have been working hard to get wins.

"We came here to win. Today and tomorrow probably the hangover is going to be really tough, but in football we cannot think too much about what happened."

  19. 'Frank looks stressed'published at 23:13 GMT 7 January

    FT: Bournemouth 3-2 Tottenham

    Shay Given
Former Newcastle and Man City keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Frank looks shattered. Bags under his eyes, he looks stressed, that is what management does to these guys. He can't go home tonight and put his head on the pillow and get a good eight hours of sleep, he will be tossing and turning all night, thinking of the next training session, the next game.

I’m no Frank fan, but he’s inherited a highly average group of players and lost his best players to injury for most of the season. Until the Spurs hierarchy start buying some good players for now (rather than maybe tomorrow), any manager will massively struggle.
