Imogen Longcake scored the opening goal for Partick Thistle

Montrose will have to wait to find out whether they have secured their spot in the top six after they were beaten 2-1 by Partick Thistle.

The result doesn't affect the league standings but Thistle in seventh are only one point behind Montrose in sixth heading into the final pre-split game.

Imogen Longcake gave the visitors the lead after 19 minutes when she followed up on a Lauren Perry save to smash the ball into the roof of the net.

Isla Taylor added a second less than 10 minutes later, she latched on to Erin Rennie's pass to finish coolly into the bottom corner.

Sophie Martin pulled one back for the hosts just before half-time as she got the vital touch to poke the ball in following a scramble in the Thistle box.

But it wasn't enough to mount a comeback for Craig Feroz's side who fell to their 10th defeat of the season.
