Well it was a good day for most of the teams at the top of League Two.

Bromley made it 21 matches without defeat with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Colchester - extending their unbeaten home record this season.

Second-placed MK Dons, however, went down to a 3-1 defeat by Barnet at lunchtime while third-placed Cambridge United beat Salford City, who drop a place to sixth.

At the bottom, it's as you were with the bottom five all losing. Barrow remain rooted to the foot of the table after a 5-0 loss at Grimsby and Harrogate were edged out by a single goal at Oldham Athletic.

Bolton and Bradford miss out on the chance to close the gap to second-placed Cardiff after their lunchtime goalless draw but Lincoln extend their lead by three more points.

Stevenage enter the top six and push opponents Reading down to eighth, with Huddersfield also losing out to a Plymouth Argyle side closing in on the play-off spots.

Blackpool remain inside the bottom four but only by goal difference to heap the pressure on a faltering Exeter City who lost to a Wigan side managed by former boss Gary Caldwell.

    • Lincoln City's promotion chances have moved a step closer with a convincing 3-0 win over Rotherham to stretch their unbeaten run to 22 games.
    • Bolton stutter again in their quest to stay in touch with the top two after losing at bottom side Port Vale 1-0 who pick up their first home win in eight games.
    • Bradford stay in fourth despite them losing 2-1 at Burton Albion. That's now no wins in the Bantams' past three league games.
    • Dan Kemp's late goal for Stevenage saw them overcome Reading 1-0 to swap places with the Royals to move into the play-off places.
    • Plymouth are a point off sixth-placed Stevenage and move up seventh after their 3-1 win over Huddersfield. Tom Cleverley's side are now unbeaten in their past five league games.
    • And Gary Caldwell saw his Wigan side pick up an important 2-0 win over his former employers Exeter to see them both swap places near the foot of the table. The Grecians, who are now 20th and only adrift the drop zone on goal difference, have now not won a game in their past 13 outings, losing their past five on the bounce.

Amongst the problems facing Reading is Randell Williams facing what we think will be a season-ending injury.

    • Wins for Chesterfield, Fleetwood and Bristol Rovers
  7. How come Reading are such a side of two halves?published at 17:08 GMT 21 March

    FT: Stevenage 1-0 Reading

    Mick Gooding
Ex-Reading player/manager on BBC Radio Berkshire

It is a mystery how Reading can be so good in first halves and so poor in second halves.

Fitness will probably come into it, but it has to be psychological too.

I am sure they never had a shot in the second half that the Stevenage 'keeper had to save.

It was a very physical game, both teams cancelled each other out.

    Bromley 1-0 Colchester

Bromley cling on to another 1-0 win - unbelievable!

Despite Colchester creating plenty of chances early on, they were unable to grab the breakthrough and Jack Tucker went extremely close when he hit the post.

Bromley's Ashley Charles hit the bar, as did Damola Ajayi, but Nicke Kabamba got the winner 17 minutes from time, swivelling in the box before firing home into the roof of the net emphatically.

The Ravens are now 21 matches unbeaten. They look destined to be playing League One football next season.

  9. CLOSE!published at 16:58 GMT 21 March

    Bromley 1-0 Colchester

Colchester's Jack Payne has a go from range but it bends just wide!

The U's have had 17 shots this afternoon but haven't been able to convert any of their chances as time begins to run out.

  10. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 GMT 21 March

    Stevenage 1-0 Reading

Stevenage seal a place in the top six with a late winner against a lacklustre Reading.

It was a scrappy, unexciting affair but Boro had a strong finish that saw Dan Kemp rifle in a winner after a period of pressure from the hosts.

Stevenage also saw Jamie Reid find the net earlier in the match but the goal got chalked off for offside. Not that they will care. They are in the play-off spots at the Royals' expense.

    Notts County 5-2 Cheltenham

Full-time and it's been a five-star performance from Notts County.

County trailed early on when Isaac Hutchinson scored in the tenth minute but two goals in 12 minutes saw the hosts take the lead before the half-hour mark.

Jodi Jones grabbed an equaliser and Matt Palmer fired in a screamer from outside the box to give County their lead before Hutchinson's second made it 2-2.

Tom Iorpenda's terrific individual effort restored County's lead before James Wilson's own goal made the game safe for the Magpies.

Sam Sherring was shown a straight red card for the visitors and Tyrese Hall made it five in stoppage time.

They have scored nine goals in a week following their 4-0 thumping of Accrington Stanley on Tuesday.

  13. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:55 GMT 21 March

    Lincoln 3-0 Rotherham

Rotherham keep the damage to 3-0 as Lincoln extend their lead at the top by three points.

Lincoln had their chances to inflict a higher score line but the Millers put in a much better defensive effort in the second half to ensure they didn't fall further behind.

But the Imps won't mind. They need just four more points to ensure promotion and those will likely come pretty soon based on how they are performing lately.
