League One side Burton Albion have signed forward Kain Adom from Gateshead for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old has signed an initial 18-month contract with the Brewers, with an option for a further 12 months.

Adom, who has scored 10 goals in the National League this season, could make his debut in Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie at Boreham Wood following a rule change allowing players to represent two clubs in the competition in one season.

"I love his direct play," Burton boss Gary Bowyer told the club website., external "He is a strong runner with great pace."
