Cardiff City have boosted their promotion bid by completing a loan deal for Liverpool left-back Calum Scanlon.
The 20-year-old has joined the League One leaders for the remainder of their 2025-26 campaign and will provide competition for Joel Bagan.
Scanlon made two Europa League appearances for the Reds under Jurgen Klopp before spending time on loan at Millwall last season.
The England youth international began his career with Birmingham City's academy and joined Liverpool in 2020 at the age of 15.
Scanlon said he was "delighted" when he became aware of the Bluebirds' desire to sign him.
"I know it's a massive club performing well at the moment, so it's a privilege to be here and I can't wait to get working," he added.
"Everything about the club made me want to be here; what it stands for, to the manager and the staff, how they approach the game and the style of football they play as well."
While Bagan has been a regular this season, boss Brian Barry-Murphy says Scanlon will have a role to play as Cardiff look to maintain their promotion push.
"We're very keen to involve him in our squad because of how much we feel he fits our style of play, and how much he can add to us," he said.
"He's very keen to improve all aspects of his game, which is very aligned with how our squad works.
"Coming in to compete against the players we have will be a big challenge for him, but one he's really up for."
Scanlon is Cardiff's second signing of the mid-season transfer window after goalkeeper Harry Tyrer arrived from Everton.
Cardiff have also offloaded two keepers, with Jak Alnwick joining Huddersfield Town and Ethan Horvath leaving for New York Red Bulls.
USA international Horvath's move has been confirmed after news of the Red Bulls' interest emerged last week.
Cardiff striker Kion Etete has joined St Mirren on loan after returning from a temporary spell at Rotherham, while youngsters Dakarai Mafico and Tanatswa Nyakuhwa have also gone out on loan during this window.
Scanlon arrives in Wales after Cardiff were held to a 2-2 draw at Burton, cutting their lead at the top of the table to two points.
