Sheffield United have signed Leo Hjelde on loan from Sunderland for the rest of the season.

Hjelde, who can play left-back or in central defence, has not played any games for the Black Cats since promotion, but he featured 19 times last season.

The 22-year-old's last game was a substitute appearance against the Blades at Wembley in last May's Championship play-off final.

Sheffield United are currently 17th, 11 points off the top six and seven points clear of the bottom three.
