Kent 190-5 - need 357 to win at Durham

Ben Raine is cutting a hugely frustrated figure.

He's probably had seven or eight appeals in his past three overs and hasn't been successful with any of them.

His last, which sounded like an inside edge anyway, saw him walking backwards down the middle of the track almost to the crease as he appealed.

There is a lot of pressure about, on Kent, sure, but also on the home side, and the umpires.

Storm Dave was certainly not the only high pressure formation in the north east this week.

19 overs left in the day.

    Northants 184-9 (72 balls remaining)

George Bartlett nicks the strike on the final delivery again with an agricultural hook which squirts away as Tom Bailey tried to tuck him up with a short one.

    Yorks 192-5 - target 295

Are Yorkshire going to have a final dart at this?

Mason Crane gives George Hill too much width at the end of his latest over and is cut away behind square for four.

    The Tykes need 103 from 14 overs - a run-rate of 7.35.

  4. Postpublished at 17:25 BST

    Northants 183-9 (74 balls remaining)

There are 74 deliveries left for Northants to negotiate and George Bartlett is going to have to face as many of those as possible.

He has got through seven overs already but the pressure is huge on the former Somerset man's shoulders.

He is taking singles on offer near the end of the overs but he does not trust Ben Sanderson to fend off Jimmy Anderson and Tom Bailey for more than a ball.

  5. Final Hour at Derbypublished at 17:24 BST

    Derbyshire 625-8 v Worcestershire 312 & 270-6

We're into the final hour at Derby during which a minimum of 16 overs have to be bowled. They could get more in with Bashir and Montgomery currently in the attack.

Still no wickets since tea for Derbyshire as Waite and Brookes continue to keep them out.

Re Mark.in Manchester (17.04) Not just last season. Its been a consistent theme for 3 or 4 years. Do they change strategy when bowling against the tailenders? Problem needs to be solved.

Kent 183-5 - need 357 to win at Durham

Ben Raine tries a bouncer at Tawanda Muyeye but the youngster is equal to it and hooks away to the fence at fine leg to move to 79*.

  8. Postpublished at 17:21 BST

    Glamorgan 186-5 - target 295

Glamorgan have dropped a couple of catches - how costly will that be. George Hill has a let-off at short extra cover in the latest over.

There are 16 overs left and Yorkshire need 109 to win.

Kent 177-5 - need 357 to win at Durham

No chance of hands being shaken any time soon at the Riverside, not with the way Ben Raine and Matty Potts are bowling.

21 overs remain in the day, the hosts need five wickets and are thumping the pads almost at will, it seems, as the Kent batters shuffle around their crease.

Tawanda Muyeye is on 75* from 99 deliveries but has been happy to farm the strike to Chris Benjamin who has started to settle down after a nervous introduction.

  10. Match drawn at Tauntonpublished at 17:18 BST

    Somerset 347 & 407-5d v Notts 338 & 140-3

An enjoyable game drifts into a final session draw, which is just about right.

Tom Abell made a first-innings century and Joe Clarke fell narrowly short of one in the Notts reply before James Rew and Tom Kohler-Cadmore shared a monster second-wicket stand of 224 for Somerset and each reached three figures.

The target of 417 Notts were set on the final afternoon was nominal, and despite a couple of flurries of intensity, the spoils are shared at Taunton.

    13 points apiece.

    Yorks 184-5 - target 295

That must have been very close.

Ben Kellaway is convinced he has George Hill leg-before. The umpire isn't.

    Derbyshire 625-8 v Worcestershire 312 & 269-6

Derbyshire turn to their occasional off spin bowler Matthew Montgomery as they look for ways to breakthrough against Worcestershire's stubborn 7th wicket pair who've now batted for 22 overs.

Montgomery has three first class wickets to his name and from Derbyshire's point of view now would be a good time for him to get his fourth

Notts 139-3 - need 417 to win at Somerset

They are still playing at Taunton, and Josh Thomas has come on for some dual-spin with Jack Leach, with the hosts packing close fielders around the bat, but with seven wickets still to find, it feels like the final act.

Oh what a catch this is from Matty Hurst.

Louis Kimber fends off an outswinger from Jimmy Anderson and Hurst darts sharply down to his right and picks that off six inches from the grass.

It is Ben Sanderson versus Anderson now with the game on the line.

    Yorks 177-5 - target 295

All results still possible at Sophia Gardens.

We are into the last 20 overs and Yorkshire require another 118 to win - Glamorgan need five wickets.

Gripping stuff in south Wales, with Matthew Revis and George Hill together at the crease.

Kent 172-5 - need 357 to win at Durham

Tawanda Muyeye again opts to take a single from the first ball of the new over, off Ben Raine.

Chris Benjamin is thumped on the pads and Raine launches into a concerted appeal but it's outside the line this time.

  17. Postpublished at 17:09 BST

Kent 171-5 - need 357 to win at Durham

23 overs remain in the day.

    Durham need five wickets.

Kent are not making 357, let's be real.

Tawanda Muyeye feels like the key to the destiny of this game.

  18. Postpublished at 17:07 BST

Kent 167-5 - need 357 to win at Durham

Lovely stuff from Matty Potts who wheels away in celebration after rapping Chris Benjamin on the pads.

Shake of the head from the umpire.

Benjamin has endured a torrid time in his first four balls at the crease but Tawanda Muyeye has turned down the chance to keep strike a couple of times of late, even though he's been out there for 96 balls for his 74*.

    Nervy, nervy times...

I see Lancs are at it again, had the opposition 50 for 6 and can’t finish them off?? What is the problem with this Lancs team? It was the same last season, no promotion if this doesn’t get sorted!!

    Mark, Manchester

I agree with my namesake from Petersfield. Jack Leach bowling in Div 1 against last season’s champions manages to get wickets with flight and guile but our old boy, Bashir is struggling to make any impression on a div 2 lower order. Surely Jack must be in with a shout.

    Chris, Yeovil

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17:03 BST

    McManus lbw b Anderson 27 (Northants 179-8)

It has just breezed away from the initial line a shade but it is enough to hit the pad in front of off stump.

Lancs have the breakthrough and that could be enough.

Lewis McManus departs and Louis Kimber is the new batter.
