    Notts 244-7 v Glamorgan

Jack Haynes is ticking along very nicely for Notts. He punches through the covers for another single and he's onto 92*.

  2. 300 runs

300 partnership for Durhampublished at 15:33 BST

    Glos v Durham 303-0

Unremitting, remorseless stuff from the Durham opening pair as they go past 300 and we are a couple short of 60 overs.

  3. Postpublished at 15:32 BST

    Surrey 229-2 v Leics

Four more for Ollie Pope and he's just two away from a century now.

He drives on the up through the covers from Josh Hull and it races away.

    Dawson c Duke b Coad (Yorks v Hants 204-6)

Brilliant delivery from Ben Coad and Hants are rocking.

This is angled in towards middle but straightens and threatens the top of off.

Liam Dawson does well to get something on it to steer it away but the faintest of edges flies to Harry Duke.

It continues to be a privilege to watch Marcus Harris bat, and I don't want Lancashire to lose him, but he really is too good for the second division.

    Jeffrey at Old Trafford

If Marcus Harris bats well this summer, he may be here next year as part of Australia's Ashes squad.

  6. Postpublished at 15:24 BST

    Surrey 221-2 v Leics

Ollie Pope tickles one down to fine leg off Josh Hull for two and he moves onto 92*.

Two batters into the 90s with Jamie Smith also unbeaten on 94 at the other end.

  7. JACK LEACH IS OPENING THE BATTING AGAIN!published at 15:23 BST

    Essex 149 v Somerset 0-0

Jack Leach the afternoon watcher then!

This Somerset team love to entertain with varying opening partnerships.

No Josh Davey or Lewis Gregory to open in this match, James Rew is spared from going up one space higher again, and Tom Lammonby and Tom Abell can stay in their same spots.

TKC is replaced by Leach so it is an all left-hand combination, with Josh Thomas on the ground where he made his full Championship debut in September facing Jamie Porter.

    Mayes b Bess 39 (Yorks v Hants 199-5)

Has he got a bit of an inside edge on that? If not that is a prodigious bit of turn through the gate from Dom Bess as the 18-year-old Ben Mayes perishes.

He is dragged forward trying to whip into the leg side and he misses. Bess does not and the Hants innings is checked once again.

    Lancashire batter Marcus Harris

Marcus Harris moved into the 90s with a beautifully timed maximum over long-on off Shoaib Bashir and he brings up his first century of the season with a clip off his legs for two off Zak Chappell.

The Australian now has 34 first-class hundreds and adds, at the first time of asking following his return from Victoria, another to go with the three he scored in Division Two last season.

Six for Brett Huttonpublished at 15:21 BST

    Notts 232-7 v Glamorgan

    Big hit!

Not a bad way to get your first boundary of the innings. Brett Hutton pulls Mason Crane to cow corner and it's gone all the way.

  11. Postpublished at 15:20 BST

    Surrey 213-2 v Leics

Ollie Pope is indeed fine to continue after taking a ball to the top of the helmet from Josh Hull. On we go.

Good to see Kent have the early breakthrough (searches for rolling eyes emoji)... honestly, what I would give for a Headley or a McCague these days...

    Mark, Herne Bay

As I said during the opening match it's going to be a long season of same old same old for us Kent supporters and it seems I'm right...

    Steve, Kent

Quite, Mark and Steve... Northamptonshire are 240-1 at the St Lawrence Ground.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Lehmannpublished at 15:16 BST

    Yorks v Hants 192-4

Yorkshire fans celebrated 43 half centuries for his father, Darren, but this time a Lehmann half-century is greeted with just mild applause at Headingley as son Jake raises his bat.

It comes with a cut to backward point from the left-hander and has taken him 65 balls and contained eight fours.

  14. Career-best for McKinneypublished at 15:15 BST

    Gloucestershire v Durham 277-0

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham's Alex Lees and Ben McKinney have been having fun today. Other than Lees surviving a run-out on 41 - and an inside edge mid-afternoon, there's been little to trouble the pair.

This stand is now the third-highest opening partnership for Durham in first-class cricket. It has just passed the 262* Lees and Emilio Gay put on in a rearguard action at The Oval last July.

Next on the list is the 313 Lees and Sean Dickson scored at Hove in 2022. Top is the 314 put on by Michael Di Venuto and Kyle Coetzer at home to Notts in 2009.

It's been so easy for Durham today, it's almost as if they are playing with a Kookaburra ball.

    Lees has 106 and McKinney a career-best 154.

  15. 150 runs

150 for Ben McKinneypublished at 15:14 BST

    Glos v Durham 274-0

Ben McKinney is feasting on Gloucestershire in Bristol as he now tucks Craig Miles away for four more runs to bring up his 150.

He has 152 off 148 balls. He is having some day here, the Durham opener.

  16. Postpublished at 15:14 BST

    Surrey 211-2 v Leics

Ollie Pope takes one to the top of the helmet from Josh Hull and it loops up to wicket-keeper Ben Cox who takes the catch.

Just the helmet involved and no bat. We will have a slight break now as Pope is checked over.

He seems to be fine, thankfully.

A breakthrough for Kent as Ricardo Vasconcelos goes for a fine 127 as Jas Singh gets him to nick one behind for a welcome respite for the home side.

Still a wonderful platform for new batter Calvin Harrison with Northants on 231-1.

Spin has broken the Worcestershire resistance with Zafar Gohar removing Tom Taylor for 19 and Middlesex have that chance of bowling the Pears out before tea as they sit on 164-8.

    Porter c Rew b Shaw 0 (Essex 149 all out v Somerset)

Josh Shaw prepares to release the ball as he bowls for SomersetImage source, Shutterstock

Three for Josh Shaw on his competitive debut!

Sam Cook is left one not out as his opening bowling partner Jamie Porter is caught behind for nought.

3-30 off 11 overs for the former Gloucestershire seamer.

Phenomenal first innings from Somerset, now for Josh Thomas to bat as well as he did in his debut here last September with whoever is pushed up to open with him.

My guess would be the very flexible, keen to bat anywhere, James Rew.

    O'Neill b Gorvin 59 (Notts 214-7)

    Glamorgan needed that!

It's been a very handy contribution by Fergus O'Neill and he certainly hasn't wasted much time with it with 59 from 82 balls.

But Andy Gorvin finally gets one to beat O'Neill's bat and it finds the top of off peg.

  20. Postpublished at 15:09 BST

    Lancs 189-3 v Derbys

No one looked in better nick than Michael Jones who was superb for his 71 in the first innings at Wantage Road last week and he has picked up here in similarly assured form.

The Ormskirk-born Scotland international has just helped himself to two fours and a two in Zak Chappell's over. When he is on the front foot – and building on a decent platform – he is a very dangerous player.
