I don't know when the last time I saw a consolidation period was, maybe when I was playing in 2008 and I used to knock it around for three or four an over.

But these guys just keep going and keep their foot on the accelerator.

  3. 6 runs

    WI 176-2published at 14.2 overs

Shimron Hetmyer readjusts the straps on his gloves, then goes down on one knee and slog sweeps Graeme Cremer for six over cow corner.

  4. 50 runs

Fifty for Powellpublished at 14.1 overs

Rovman Powell has gone up through the gears after a bit of stodgy start.

Graeme Cremer's first ball is slapped for a single down to long-on for a single.

    Powell's fifty off 29 balls

  5. drinks break

West Indies 169-2 at drinkspublished at 14 overs

The joy of six for West Indies at the moment.

Rovman Powell is on the march now and he hammers the hapless Brad Evans for a flat six over long-off.

Powell follows it up with back-to-back fours before punching a single to keep the strike.

As a batter, you have to find what works for you. You cannot compete with anyone else, you have to stick to your own game.

I would say Rovman Powell needs to do that here. I feel like he is going to be lining Dion Myers up, this is the bowler he has been wanting to face.

  7. 6 runs

    WI 150-2published at 13 overs

You might need to get to the chopper to fetch that.

Huge from Rovman Powell who hits a 106-metre six - the biggest today so far - off the final ball of Dion Myers' over.

Powell plants his front foot and smokes it over wide long-off.

  8. WI 141-2published at 12.3 ovwes

Dion Myers into the attack for Zimbwbwe.

May as well be Mike Myers bowling given Shimron Hetmyer is seeing it like a football.

Short and wide from Myers and Hetmyer squirts it wide of point for four.

Later in the over, Rovman Powell swats another boundary through mid-wicket.

  9. 6 runs

Hetmyer hits a 'remarkable' half century

Exhibit A of why you cannot afford to drop Shimron Hetmyer.

Rovman Powell, who has 21 off 20 balls, whips Brad Evans for six over mid-wicket off the penultimate ball of the over.

  10. Hetmyer dropped on 70published at 11.2 overs

    Brad Evans bowls.

Shimron Hetmyer with a slog towards cow corner.

    Tashinga Musekiwa spills the catch.

That's twice Musekiwa has put down the West Indies left-hander.

Zimbabwe probably should've caught Shimron Hetmyer when they had the chance.

Sikander Raza has his work cut out. He went back to his leg spinner again in that over, with Graeme Cremer coming in for his third, so all Rovman Powell really needed to do is get Hetmyer on strike.

Doing that should hopefully bring more fireworks.

  12. WI 120-2published at 11 overs

Graeme Cremer wrestles one back for Zimbabwe with an over of leg-spin which concedes just five runs.

Invaluable after the onslaught from Shimron Hetmyer.

Being encouraged to crowbar in a few more Arnie-quotes now. Stick around, to see if I manage it...

At the halfway point and West Indies are motoring towards a sizable total at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Be amazed if this is out. Smacks of desperation from Zimbabwe as they review a delivery which Rovman Powell looks to work to leg.

There was almost certainly some bat on it.

It is such a small ground in Mumbai and Rovman Powell is using the crease exceptionally well.

The power that he has when he hits the ball on the ground means he is able to just dissect the fielders. It doesn't look like they are even getting a chance at the minute.

    Glad someone clocked it, Shano.

Shimron Hetmyer would give Arnold Schwarzenegger a run for his money in the bench-pressing stakes, I reckon.

Sikander Raza is launched for a monster 108-metre hit into the stands for six off his first ball.

Hetmyer shows his deftness as well, though, by stylishly late cutting for four a couple of deliveries later.

  19. WI 98-2published at 9 overs

Zimbabwe's spinners taking some tap, here.

Rovman Powell latches on to one a little bit short from Graeme Cremer and the West Indies batter swats it into the leg side for four.

The wily Cremer gets the final ball of the over to grip and spin away to beat the outside edge of Powell's bat.

Six runs added to the West Indies total.

Shimron Hetmyer has come out the blocks, hasn't he?

He is definitely not holding back and it was a favourable match-up for him there, with the leg-spin and the ball turning in. He has absolutely zero respect for the ball turning in and he has shown that with his start.

Zimbabwe have a big challenge now.
