Impact rule dangerous for future of all-rounders - Mulderpublished at 16:28 BST
Image source, Getty ImagesSouth Africa international Wiaan Mulder says the Indian Premier League's player impact rule is dangerous for the future of all-rounders.
The rule, brought in for the 2023 season, allows teams to substitute in a player during the match.
It means teams can, for instance, stack a team with batters but bring in a bowler for the second innings.
"It skews the game a little bit," said Mulder, who was regularly one of the options on the bench at Sunrisers Hyderabad last year but only played one game, on the Stumped podcast.
"If you look how many 200 plus scores already, teams bat until number 10.
"It has taken me out of the game completely, someone who bats in the middle and bowls.
"If you look at someone like [Australia all-rounder] Cam Green. who knows what it will look like for him going forward.
"The only one who seems to make it work is [India all-rounder] Hardik Pandya."
