Shadab stars as Islamabad United pick up first win

Islamabad United registered their first victory of the 2026 Pakistan Super League with a convincing eight-wicket win over Quetta Gladiators.
Captain Shadab Khan inspired the win, taking 3-23 with the ball and then steering Islamabad to victory with an unbeaten 69.
Hasan Nawaz smashed an unbeaten 66 off 36 balls as Quetta posted 183-5, with ex-England bowler Tom Curran adding 29* (22) at the end.
In reply, teenage opener Sameer Minhas dominated the Quetta bowling with 82 not out (48) alongside Shadab, who hit four sixes in his 39-ball knock.
