Forest Green Rovers 2-1 Torquay United

  • Published

Forest Green came from a goal behind to beat 10-man Torquay, with James Norwood netting the winner for the home side.

Moments after Torquay defender Krystian Pearce went close with a header, the Gulls went in front with a neat lob from Duane Ofori-Acheampong.

Jon Parkin levelled for the hosts from six yards before Courtney Richards, who set up Torquay's goal, saw a second yellow card for a foul on Norwood.

And Norwood met Elliott Frear's left-wing cross to seal victory.

Forest Green manager Ady Pennock told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

Pennock on Torquay v Forest Green

"I was a man possessed on the sideline, which I didn't want as my voice is killing me anyway.

"But they were good today. Tonight we showed what we can do.

"In the first 25 minutes we weren't at it but after that we were very good.

"We came out in the second half exactly how we finished the first and it was good to see."
