Ludlow's Great Tower was built around the original castle keep and is highly unusual because it is both a keep and a gatehouse. Today it is entered via a spiral staircase and visitors can climb to the very top - to be rewarded by this magnificent view over the castle, the town and far away to the hills that surround Ludlow.
