 | | | | | | | | | | | So how many bikes have you had so far? I had a Haro Backtrail.
What was that like? Well I thought it was good, but then you start realising that it's pretty outrageous [laughs]. And then I had a fifth-hand frame, maybe, from some guy in a skateboard shop. It was a Haro 540 Air and it had just over 1cm thick dropouts on it [laughs]. Then I got my [Mutiny] Punisher for Christmas last year which was pretty good, but I'm just realising now that it's just so ugly and weighs a ton [laughs].
Are you into light parts then? Not too light, but within reason. I wouldn't go for a really light frame just 'cos it's gonna break, you know it will, but then the lighter it is, the less your back hurts when you're riding.
If a huge, faceless company, who have nothing to do with BMX and only want some 'street' cudos for their products, offered you a wad of cash to hock their products, would you take it? Graham: Hell yeah! [Laughter] Damn right. Damnrightfool!
No moral high ground? Nah. That'll be it - just give us the cash [laughter].
What do you do for a job? I just recently got a job at a supermarket.
How's that working out? It's working out pretty well bit it's hard finding time to ride, what with riding full time, but it's alright. You get so much money it's unreal.
You still living at home? Yeah.
Paying rent? Yeah. £90 a month.
And you get your food cooked for you?! Yeah.
Your mum's being done (as it were)! So who do you go riding with most? Just me and Graham most and Ande Murdoch has kind of become part of the crew.
Is he the guy with the wacky hair? Yeah [laughter] - the Ali G hair.
It's just wrong, isn't it? [Laughs] He says he was drunk when he got it done.
Well then you'd just shave it off then or dye it a different colour the next day, wouldn't you! So who's the best rider out of yous lot? Graham to the max [laughter].
If you had a trick-off, who would win? Who has the deepest trick bag? I've probably got the deepest trick bag.
What's your favourite trick? Probably the barspin, 'cos you can do it anywhere.
You do a lot of toothpicks as well. Aye, yeah. I just started getting into those again. People say they're hard but they're not too bad.
Just throw yoursel' forward? Erm, yep.
You've not wrecked your axles doing them? Nah, 'cos I'm riding the G-Sports now, so not a chance. Graham: 'Mon the G-Sports!
Which trick do you really want to learn but haven't managed to pull yet? Tailwhips. I've been trying them up the park. I can get one foot on but the back foot just trails.
