Fergus King
Name?
Fergus King

Are you just riding BMX at the moment?
I’ve been riding BMX for the last year, but I rode downhill before that.

Have you given up mountain bikes then?
I’ve not given up riding them but I’ve given up racing them.

Why’s that?
I don’t like the people that much anymore [laughs].

Is there too much bickering or something?
They’re all just getting pathetic and it’s all about winning, and there’s no-one just enjoying the sport any more.

So how long have you had this bike?
I’ve had the new bike since November.

Are you pleased with it?
I’d like to get lower handlebars but that’s about it. I’m quite happy with it. I like the frame. It’s longer than my last one and it’s a lot easier for manualling and jumping and I can move about a bit more on my bike. It’s all quite heavy though, I like my heavy bike [laughs].

So you haven’t bought into the light bikes craze?
They just brake easier and it doesn’t feel as nice in the air. It’s harder controling it [Ed: Fergus is now riding a super light-weight Josh Stricker frame. Shocking!]

Do you have any tricks or things that you’re working on at the moment?
I’ve not really got any bit aims just the now. I’m just trying to get better at everything, and do more lip tricks.
