18 year old Kevin Garrity first began playing the trombone aged 10 in Glasgow primary school, St Bridgets. But it was in St. Ambrose High School jazz band where his passion for jazz trombone began. Within a short space of time he had gained a seat school and county bands of North Lanarkshire.

At age 14 he joined SYJO as lead trombonist, we he began to learn jazz improvisation. In addition to still holding a seat in SYJO, he now plays for TSYJO and has played in NYJOS, performing at the Glasgow Jazz Festval and venues such as the Royal Concert Hall. Despite now being a medical student, Kevin continues to work actively as a musician in youth bands and professionally across Scotland and further afield
