18 year old Corrie is a Glaswegian drummer. He discovered his interest in the Jazz genre initially when he met fellow finalist Peter Johnstone on an inter-school music course playing trumpet. Peter's enthusiasm and subsequently that of his musical mentors has transformed Corrie into a highly motivated young drummer. Paul Towndrow provided a particularly advantageous platform with his ongoing "Jazz Futures" project.
He recently progressed to the main NYJOS band from it's "Access" band under the mentorship of Andrew Bain and Malcolm Edmonstone while simultaneously holding the drum chair in Strathclyde Youth Jazz Orchestra and leading his own ensembles including his Sextet.
His main influences are Brian Blade and his Fellowship Band, his peers and musicians in the Glasgow scene and beyond.
