19 year old double bassist, Andrew Robb, is finishing his first year on the jazz course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Initially studying classical music he participated in National Children's Orchestra of Scotland and continues play in the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland where he is currently leading the bass section.
In 2007 he was awarded the Scottish Diploma In Jazz where he was also the joint winner of the Linda Trahan Memorial Award for the most outstanding performance. He has been a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra for three years and Tommy Smith's Youth Jazz Orchestra since 2008.
Having performed extensively, Andrew has been fortunate to work with some of the best jazz musicians on the current scene in Scotland and in London. He hopes to record and perform in the UK and abroad.
