Source A was written by a modern historian, in a book about Mary's life.
There could be no legal value to a document in which
Mary was forced to sign away her crown
in favour of her infant son, and the regency of her half-brother.
She was a prisoner
on a lonely island
,
without any advisers
, and
surrounded by soldiers
under the command of the new regent's own brother. Shortly afterwards,
Mary fell seriously ill
again.
