Shipbuilding in Scotland has all but disappeared in many places where thousands used to work in the industry. In many places, little remains to remind people of the companies and shipyards that once built ships that sailed all over the world. Sometimes only street names indicate where shipyards once stood. These street signs are a useful reminder of the scale of the industry that has all but disappeared in a few decades.
