Students
This site has been developed to meet the needs of students studying Higher English. It focuses on Robin Jenkins’ novel The Cone-Gatherers, but you’ll still find it useful if you’re studying a different novel or preparing for the Textual Analysis internal assessment.

The site takes four extracts from the novel and looks at them in close detail to discover what each has to say about the themes and characters of the novel, and to see how the style and structure of the extract contributes to its meaning and impact. We also provide three further extracts with which to practice your textual analysis skills.

The site is available in two versions. The enhanced version contains audio and visual elements, providing an immersive learning environment. The standard version contains the same core content but in a plainer format.

We’d appreciate knowing what you think of the site and welcome all comments and suggestions. If there's something in The Cone-Gatherers you've found really useful, or a part of the site you found difficult to use, please let us know by emailing us at [email protected]
