Star Pupil Tour BlogMonday's blogTuesday's blogThursday's blogFriday's blog ![]() Wednesday - 8.10am Huey Veggie Sausage. All I wanted was beans on toast... It's not a lot for a man to ask now is it? But no, they didn't have it on the menu last night and they certainly weren't going to be knocking one together for me when there was a full a la carte offering to be had. I settled for pasta and went to bed unfulfilled... hmmm, can't remember the last time I didn't.
Wednesday - 2.05pm Kate My ears hurt. I've found a quiet moment in the day for me to write a quick hello... Actually, when I say quiet, I only mean workwise - this place is anything but quiet. The air is rife with the sound of shrieking children, usually whenever a soap opera star decides to leave the safety of our 'green room'. I pity any dogs in the area, I really do. It really feels like Beatlemania here today - the reaction to the Hollyoaks stars and Richard is just incredible - they were all nervous about today (as all our stars have been) but they couldn't hide their glee at such a rapturous response - and why the hell should they? It's been a computer based day today but it meant I got to hear Chris from Hollyoaks beatboxing and I got a sneaky kiss goodbye from Richard F, so it's all good. All that said, we're only on day 3. What on earth?! Headlice report: I think we're in the clear but given the way we were mobbed today (they were asking US for autographs?!!) I fear that infestation is only a moment away. ![]() Wednesday - 5.20pm Piers soapstar superstar. I have to be honest. Today i was scared. With all due respect to the guy, I don't think we realised quite what an impact that Richard Fleeshman would have in a school. The girls at the school today just went totally nuts for him - and woe betide anyone who happened to be in their way. At one point we were baricaded in the little room they had set up for us at the school. On either side there were kids banging on the classroom walls, at the same time about a hundred girls were banging on the windows and doing that really piercing high pitched screaming thing, even though the blinds were drawn. Things were threatening to get out of control. The irony being that it was only me and Clare from the website in the room at the time - Fleeshman had done one!
Wednesday - 6.03pm Roachy Damn paparazzi Huey, our on-line snapper keeps getting in my shots. A small nudge would have sent him and his carpet bombing ways straight into the school swimming pool today...Too many teachers around though and they still make me feel like a naughty school boy. It's been a wicked tour so far. This is the way that I imagine cowboys would have felt back in the Wild West. Ride into town, create chaos and then ride out, leaving someone else to clear up. Brilliant. The moon face is coming on nicely - my promise, always made, never kept on tour – to not eat crap all week is not working out well. The bus is full of snack food and sweets and on a long boring drive eating does pass the time. It's either that or talk rubbish with Will which frankly is all we ever do. The next two hours? Headphones on. Crisps open. Feet up. Eyes closed. All good.
Wednesday - 8.07pm Megan Will is special Oh my god, we have discovered the best game in the world EVER (tm).. It's the DVD interactive version of 'You say We Pay' with the legends that are Richard and Judy.. Cue lots of shouting out weird descriptions..One was a picture of a bird - Huey described it to Roachy as 'What you call women'.. he got it straight away of course.. But the best bit was the 'Go Fetch It' round. The idea is that Richard and Judy give you a list of things you've got to go and collect from around your house. Well obviously we didn't have a gravy boat on the tour bus so we failed on that one, but the sight of Huey and Piers frantically pushing past each other on the bus trying to find a sponge, a purse, a screw and a lipstick was very, very funny.. So far the girly team of me, Nat, Tash and Kate are winning!!
Wednesday - 00:15am (technically Thursday, but hey!) Natalie First post! Hey all - this is my first hello! Hope you are enjoying the blogs so far. We really have had a great three days of Star Pupil so far. All of the winners have been lovely and the schools have welcomed us with open arms - not a mean feat considering we all turn up en masse, on the tour bus, with bags and technical equiptment in tow. Lots of fun is being had though. We are all having laughs on the bus - which is getting slightly scruffier by the day. Have watched a few films and the girls caned the boys on the interactive DVd games today! Bring it on! My ears have only stopped ringing form the screaming today - so a big hello to all the girls at Alsager School who made that happen. Georgia was amazing! Her face when we came into her classroom this morning was a picture, and she was great to have with us for the day. All the winners have been great - and to be honest we miss them all already. School seems so much more fun than when I went! Highlights/funny bits of the day; Richard Fleeshman singing my favourite song - 'Iris' by the Goo Goo Dolls whilst sound-checking, Edith jumping into the pool in her Primark PJs; great tuna sandwiches for lunch; Will, Pete and me getting screamed at as we got off the bus today at the school because everyone thought we might be famous (they were bitterly disappointed!), and finally - the vodka, lime and soda I am consuming now! Looking forward to tomorrow.
Wednesday - late Will A special moment I haven't had any time to write a blog so far, more's the pity. Far too busy making award winning mini-movies for Radio 1 Online. Anyway, one little moment happened in someone's life today and I was there to both witness it and film it. You can scour the films to find it if you want but I shall I describe it here. We took the cast of Hollyoaks to a maths class, the lesson was pretty much destroyed as we took over. For reasons that never became apparent, a boy from the class ended up on the lap of Gemma of off Hollyoaks (hot, blond and distracting.) All perfectly innocent of course, but I watched the scene with almost a fatherly air...the smile split the lads face from ear to ear. Let me tell you my friends...that little chap sat down a boy and got up a man. I suspect his life has changed for ever. |
