Lemar gets his nominations
Last updated 13 January 2004

Lemar

Lemar told us yesterday (Monday) he was hoping for a nomination at the Brit Awards this year, but instead he got two.

He's up for Best Urban Act against Big Brovaz, Mis-Teeq, Dizzee Rascal and Amy Winehouse, and also for British Breakthrough Act as voted by Radio 1 listeners.

He was grinning from ear to ear at the launch and told us he's never been to the Brits before. We asked him which award he'd rather win:

"Breakthrough's a nice one, because I'm just starting out, so breakthrough would be a nice one, but breakthrough/urban, I don't mind, it's a Brit! I'm happy! It's another category, it's more scope for someone else to get a nomination and an award, so bring it on!"
