Ilai Avni was born in London and started playing the violin aged five. He is currently in his first year in the Royal College of Music, studying with Itzhak Rashkovsky, having previously learned with Dr Tatjana Goldberg at the Purcell School. Ilai is really looking forward to participating in BBC Young Musician 2020. Ilai will play on a 1747 G.B. Guadagnini violin, kindly loaned by Florian Leonhard Fine Violins.
