Bubbly Brummie, Alison Hammond, has been brightening up This Morning viewers’ living rooms for over ten years now, most notably for her hilarious interviews with Hollywood stars including Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig. Now she’s ready to add some sparkle to the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom!

I want to roll up, pop some shapes, and just be one big sequin.
Alison Hammond

Alison first found fame in 2002, when she was a contestant on Big Brother, and although she was only in the house for 15 days, she managed to capture the hearts of the nation. Two weeks later, ITV’s This Morning offered her a three-month stint as a showbiz reporter and she’s been there ever since.

Before appearing on Big Brother, Alison was a child actress, cinema usherette and a holiday rep. And, whilst she loves her job, interviewing the rich and famous, she’s praying she makes it to Blackpool, as she needs a good holiday!

Alison’s infectious personality has won over countless stars: she’s rapped with Will Smith, serenaded Jamie Foxx and - to the envy of women everywhere - run her hands through George Clooney’s hair! Maybe she’ll manage to make Craig Revel Horwood smile?...

No stranger to competition, Alison’s appeared on Celebrity MasterChef, Celebrity Fit Club, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here and Stars in Their Eyes (as Nina Simone), so she should have no problems keeping the other contestants on their pointed tippy-toes! But will she be good enough to enjoy a holiday at the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool? Her nine year old son, Aiden, hopes so…
