Originally from Liverpool, Matt has gained a wealth of experience in fine dining working in some of the country’s best kitchens; working for David Everitt-Matthias at La Champignon Sauvage, Kenny Atkinson and under Simon Hulstone at The Elephant.
Whilst working at Glenapp Castle Hotel, Matt maintained a Michelin star at the age of just 26.
The Lawns Restaurant currently holds 3 AA rosettes and is listed in the Michelin Guide.
Matt’s grandmother was a member of the Women’s Institute so he draws on her first hand experiences for his debut in the competition.
