Amber Murdoch

The daughter of Lenny and his second wife Lydia, Amber is utterly adored by her father and she in turn manipulates his unconditional love and guilt. She sacrificed the best years of her life for him, and on release from prison was ready to get involved in the ever-expanding Murdoch Empire.

However on getting custody of her daughter, Charlotte, who she gave up in prison, Amber's priorities changed. Evolving into a real Mama bear, her desperation to protect Charlotte from their gangster lifestyle saw Amber shoot Lenny in the back one Christmas Day. Amber has since vowed off gangland crime, and instead opened a legit restaurant business with Stevie O'Hara.

Amber’s world was rocked when Charlotte was diagnosed with cancer. It was touch and go but after a traumatic amputation, Charlotte pulled through. Despite her daughter’s survival Amber felt unable to cope with her daughter’s disability and she turned to heroin as an ill-advised distraction. When Amber got in over her head with drug dealer, and Lou Caplan’s ex, Caz, it was Lou to the rescue as she warned Caz off.

Amber and Lou embarked on a tumultuous relationship. But when Lou discovered Lenny had murdered Lydia, she was forced to tell Amber that the reason Lenny was exonerated was due to Lou’s meddling. Amber demanded a confession from Lenny which effectively ended Amber’s relationship with Lou and with Lenny. Amber took Charlotte and headed off to Brighton for a fresh start.
