Having been driven out of town by Lenny Murdoch, Gabriel immigrated to Australia with the love of his life Kelly-Marie and her son Callum. Gabriel returned to Shieldinch with Callum and new addition Michaela. At first he believed his beloved had been abducted and that Lenny was behind it, it was the only explanation, but he was left heartbroken on discovering that Kelly-Marie had simply left him and her kids.

Since then he’s been a family man, setting up home for his two children and becoming a strong part of the O’Hara family. But it wasn’t long before Gabriel was back looking for a hook up and, like a moth to a flame, Gabriel had a brief fling with Amber Murdoch, much to the distaste of her father. The affair ended badly after Amber discovered bruises on her daughter Charlotte, at the hand of Gabriel’s son Callum. Gabriel risked losing his son in a custody battle with Lenny, but Lenny was talked down by Scarlett.

With Scarlett in prison, Gabriel was the first of the O’Hara family to smell a rat and managed to talk Scarlett into confessing who had set her up. Gabriel led the charge against Stevie, enlisting nemesis Lenny to help, and played a crucial part in clearing Scarlett of all charges.
