Alistair McGowan

Alistair is best known for his his uncanny imitations on the BAFTA winning BBC One sketch-show The Big Impression. He’s famously impersonated sports icons like the footballer David Beckham, Gary Lineker, and former England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson.

Alistair is also an accomplished actor. His theatre experience includes Royal Shakespeare Company productions, Cabaret and getting Olivier nominated for Little Shop of Horrors. His TV roles include the title character D.I Gil Mayo in BBC One's crime series Mayo, and Mr Kenge in period drama Bleak House.

• He’s a recipe follower; word for word. There is no level of inventiveness in him and he can’t draw/design.

• He’s currently on the road with work so hasn’t had much time to practise.

• His mother was a dreadful cook. She baked on Sundays when he was young and he copied.

• Alistair is keen to show off his Paul Hollywood impression.

• He’s 50% wildly excited about coming on an iconic show and 50% living in fear. He's never made a tiered cake before but he’ll give it a go.
