Alex, Susannah and their son pack up their London home to start a new life on a ten-acre croft on the Isle of Uist, in the Outer Hebrides. Can their dream life become a reality?
In summer 2020, Alex, Susannah and their little boy Cedar pack up their London home and drive the 700 miles to start a new life on a ten-acre croft on the Isle of Uist, in the Outer Hebrides. They are determined to live the good life, but with no jobs, a new house to build and no farming experience, they are straight in at the deep end.
Susannah has mixed feelings about returning to the island where she grew up, having never felt like she belonged, and, as the only black guy on the island, Alex has his own fear of not fitting in.
