It has been nine months since Alex and Susannah left London for their new life in the Outer Hebrides, and they are beginning to settle into island life. Alex gets a traditional crofting job cutting seaweed, while Susannah starts work at the local art centre. However, it’s not all plain sailing for the young couple as they face delays on their house build, Susannah comes to terms with her unhappy childhood, and Alex faces the harsh, life-and-death reality of crofting life.
