Celebrating 30 years of The Beat with Dean Jackson
This weekend marks 30 years since The Beat first aired on BBC Local Radio.
The show shares interviews and sessions with established and often big name artists while also promoting great local music from BBC Introducing.
Artists from across the East Midlands and beyond have been championed on the music show since its inception; some have seen worldwide success such as Mahalia, Jake Bugg and Easy Life.
BBC Radio Leicester's Ben Jackson caught up with The Beat presenter Dean Jackson.
