Living in the Worcestershire countryside, 18-year-old singer songwriter Oriel Aps says: "I'm a solo artist, writing songs because I love it."
However, she can't play a single instrument! She's spent the last few months learning computer-based production and this was her first-ever live show!
“First-class production you’d normally expect on an Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry or Pharrell track” - Andrew Marston.

Singer/songwriter Tom Robinson, who presents on BBC Radio 6 Music, took to the Mercure Hotel last night.
As well as hearing about the anniversary of 2,4,6,8 he says it 'ain't never too late' to become a star in your own right.
Plus, more of our BBC Introducing birthday celebrations.

Upton Festival highlights: Sonia

We finish off this year's Upton Festival coverage with Sonia, who was one of the youngest British female artists get to #1.
Her track You'll Never Stop Me From Loving You was produced by Stock, Aitken and Waterman and she became the first UK British female solo artist to have five singles, off a debut album, to get into the top 20.

Upton Festival highlights: The Wurzels

The band that got the biggest cheer on the Saturday afternoon were The Wurzles.
The West Country lads say they never take a peek at the crowds before they perform as they don't want to ruin the experience of walking on stage seeing the smiling faces looking back at them!

BBC Introducing at the Worcester Music Festival

This annual festival was first staged in 2008 by Chris Bennion, who produces Worcestershire Sauce.
He set up a website called NotJustSauce - aiming to put Worcester on the map musically.
It's been dubbed as Worcester's version of SXSW in Texas!
Taking place in around multiple venues across the city, from pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes to historic buildings, river cruisers, record shops, on the streets and even in breweries, the festival is absolutely free to attend with hundreds of gigs to choose from from some of the best, new and emerging artists in the UK.
Throughout October, hear all of our highlights as we brought some of favourite acts to perform at Drummonds on the Sunday of the event.

Statue for John Bonham in Redditch

It's official: John Bonham is to be honoured with a life-size bronze statue in his hometown of Redditch, after planning permission was granted by the council on Wednesday night.
It's been a great year for Led Zeppelin fans; earlier this year, on BBC Music Day, a blue plaque was unveiled at Bronzo's birthplace in Headless Cross.
Sculptor Mark Richards has been commissioned to build the installation, which will be unveiled on what would have been the late drummer's 70th birthday next May.

The Worcestershire Gladiators!

25 years ago, this week, The Gladiators became a huge hit on Saturday nights.
The show, which was filmed just up the road at the NIA in Birmingham, featured on ITV for eight years.
Ace, Falcon, Cobra, Lightning, Hunter and Jet were some of the stars you may remember watching while tucking into a takeaway.
It did make a short comeback on Sky back in 2008 with the music produced by Malvern's Paul Farrer. We'll hear from them both on this week's show.

50 Years of Radio 1: The Move

It's the fiftieth birthday of Radio 1 - and the first song played on the station was by a Midlands' band.
Flowers In The Rain is etched into history - and could have made the Worcestershire and Birmingham group, The Move, a fortune...but they've never received a penny from the hit.

BBC Introducing in Ross-on-Wye

At BBC Introducing in Hereford & Worcester, we support the very best new music from across our region.
Since 2005, we've broadcast nearly 1,000 sessions, helping to showcase some of our area's most talented musicians to a massive audience.
Some of our recent highlights include Leominster’s AKA George at Glastonbury, Bromyard’s Remi Harris at the Montreal Jazz Festival and Hay-on-Wye’s Cherryshoes at T In The Park.
We’ve handpicked some of our favourite acts to join us on stage at our next big event, which takes place on Sunday 29 October at the Phoenix Theatre in Ross-on-Wye.
These artists didn't even know they were being considered - and we hope this inspires people to keep sending in their music, because we really do listen to everything!
Admission is free and we'd love to see you anytime between 2pm and 6pm.
