In session

Marie-Claire Berreen & Her Husbands are a fine slice of 21st century folk, rock, pop and country roots, combined with stirring lyrics, inspired by the elements and observations on modern society.
The band are based between Worcester and Rugby and have a superb unique sound, muscular and dynamic, yet capable of great delicacy.
They're influenced by acts such as Elbow, Tori Amos & Damien Rice.
All of our live studio sessions and festival gigs since 2005...
Live music

In 2015, as we celebrated 10 years of supporting the very best unsigned, undiscovered & under-the-radar music, we continued to take the show on-the-road to some of the biggest events and most happening places in Herefordshire & Worcestershire.
This week, hear some of the performances we recorded at The Wychwood Festival, The Globe in Hay-on-Wye, The White Lion in Leominster, The Colwall Family Music Festival, The Artrix in Bromsgrove, Lakefest near Evesham and at The Conquest Theatre in Bromyard.

Rockfield Studios

We return to Rockfield Studios in Monmouth - where this week, we talk about the bands that trashed the place!
It almost got itself a reputation in the early days as the studio for "difficult bands".
As owner Lisa Ward explains, you won't find any Persian rugs or Ming vases in this place; she remembers one of her jobs, as a kid, was to regularly wipe the tomato ketchup off the walls.
A local history of great gigs and musical legends...

AKA George

AKA George is a 21 year old singer/songwriter from Leominster, now living in Ludlow.
He first sent his music into us in 2013 and soon after we invited him to record a session with us at SnodFest near Pershore.
At the same time, we passed his track No I.D.ea onto BBC Radio 1 who added it to their daytime playlist.
Because of this success, we invited him back as a special guest on the BBC Introducing stage at Wychwood the following year.
Then he released Animal Keeper - which got back on Radio 1. See where this is going?
Well, Radio 2 then picked him up and got to perform in Hyde Park!
He's now releasing a song per month - and performed a live session for BBC Introducing over in Shropshire.
BBC Introducing in Bromyard

If you've only ever driven through the town before, it's on Nozstock Street!
The Conquest has been hosting events at its Tenbury Road location for the last 21 years - but they'd been campaigning for a facility like this since the 50s, according to the records book!
Originally, events had been held in an 'old tin hut' which had been built in 1919 by the Royal British Legion.
But eventually they decided an all-singing, all-dancing venue was what the town needed.

BBC Introducing in Redditch

Since 2011, we've been taking the show out on-the-road showcasing the very best musicians from our two counties.
On Sunday 13 December, we'll be rolling up to Steps in Redditch to record several acts who we've been playing on BBC Hereford & Worcester recently.
We'll bring the bands - all we need now is the fans!
None of these artists knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they uploaded to us.
So if you'd like to Be Part Of It then simply turn up on the day - it's free to get in - but you must be prepared to make lots of noise for local music!
Doors open at 4pm - but you're more than welcome to turn up any time until 8pm.
