The Lonesome Stampede
Followed You In
Live Music Month!

In 2014, we continued to take the show on-the-road to some of the biggest events and most happening places in Herefordshire & Worcestershire.
This week, hear some of the performances we recorded at West Malvern Social Club, Leominster's Bell Inn, on stage at the Wychwood and Droitwich festivals and at Death Or Glory Records in Redditch.
In session

The Lonesome Stampede are a six-piece band based in and around Hay-on-Wye - however, because of their members' involvement in the Hay Festival Winter Weekend, only half of the band were able to make it!
The group play 'original songs with an original sound', despite comments that they play 'obscure covers'. As they say: "Well, we don't. It is all our own stuff!"
They've grown from a duo, that performed at the 2012 and 2013 HowTheLightGetsIn festivals, to the harmonic, foot-stomping blues outfit they are today.
All of our live studio sessions and festival gigs since 2005...
Christmas #1?

Tomorrow night, we'll find out what will be Christmas #1.
A songwriter from the Worcestershire/Staffordshire border, who was behind the Cliff Richard #1 'Saviour's Day', is aiming for the top spot.
Chris Eaton is hoping '1914 - The Carol of Christmas' will raise hundreds of pounds for military charities.
The song tells the story of the soldiers from the First World War and features Chris' wife Abby on vocals.

BBC Introducing...in Redditch

We were absolutely inundated - and this month we're coming from a cracking good venue in Redditch, which is so at the forefront of the music scene - they've just been featured on BBC Radio 1!
Death Or Glory records is situated at Church Green in the town centre and its owner, Steve Hadley, has set up his own recording studio, performance space, record label and music shop.
Christmas Day

He's the man behind TV theme tunes such as The Chase, Dancing on Ice and The Weakest Link.
This Christmas Day, award-winning Malvern composer Paul Farrer's music will be gracing our screens again.
He's provided the music for Michael McIntyre's 'Very Christmassy Christmas Show'.

The BBC Hereford & Worcester Musicians' Masterclass

- How do I get signed?
- Is there an easy way to land gigs in other areas?
- How do I build a fanbase?
- What's the best way to sell your music?
This week, it's the last in the series - so to conclude, we get the final thoughts of our industry panellists - Martin Chambers of The Pretenders, Verden Allen of Mott The Hoople, Nigel Clark from Dodgy, Scott Garrett of MAS Records, tour manager Tom Oliver, Ella Nozworthy from the Nozstock Festival, venue owner Brian Marr and Steve Hadley from Death Or Glory Records.

Charity Single

A Worcestershire musician is hoping to copy Midlands legends Slade and Wizzard by claiming success with his Christmas single.
Phil Haynes is one half of the band Vintage 12 and some of the proceeds from their song 'It's Christmas in our Town' will be going to a local charity.

Features

In the local music news this week, the
University Arena sets a precedent by hosting some of its first live local music
since opening as a venue.
There’s full details of that - and all the other live music happening in
our area over Christmas week in our gig guide.
BBC Introducing in Leominster

Since 2011, we've been taking the show out on-the-road showcasing the very best musicians from our two counties.
Our next recording session takes place on Sunday 4 January at The White Lion in Leominster and features four acts who we've been playing on BBC Hereford & Worcester recently.
It's free to get in - and this is your chance to see how we capture live music on tape, while being able to enjoy some of the hottest new acts we've got in our area right now.
None of these artists knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they uploaded to us.
Artists chosen are Spirals from Leominster, Worcester's Graeme Spenser Hughes, Barefoot In Baltimore from Redditch and Hereford musician Thomas B.
Doors open at 6pm - but you're more than welcome to turn up anytime until 10pm.
