Luke Barnett and Luke Grayland are young musicians from Bewdley.

They're currently gigging as a guitarist and bassist with the 5-piece band Swallows - but they wanted to break away and change direction, enabling them to write some chilled and hypnotic beats.

Both Luke's have since recruited a number of talented musicians along the way and present to you Shadow Cats.

Hereford's Sasha McVeigh in Nashville

Hereford's Sasha McVeigh in Nashville

The CMT Music Awards took place this month over in America, which are basically the Oscars of the Country music world.

Attending the event was Hereford's Sasha McVeigh, who's returned to Nashville to record a brand new album.

We've been a big fan of her here at BBC Hereford & Worcester since we first discovered her music - putting her on stage at Wychwood, LakeFest and passing her tracks on for national airplay on the Mark Forrest evening show.

Death Or Glory Records - on BBC Radio 1

This month on BBC Radio 1, the focus has been on music from Herefordshire & Worcestershire - as chosen by Andrew Marston and his special guests.

We're bringing you some of those extended interviews - so if you're new to new music in the area, trust us to bring you the best new music from across the region.

Our guest this week is Steve Hadley, who runs Death Or Glory Records in Redditch - where we'll be tomorrow for our monthly recording session.

BBC Introducing in Hereford
KJM Studios is a professional recording and production facility based in the heart of Hereford.

It features a full production facility with separate drum and vocal recording rooms.

As well as the studio, they also have rehearsal spaces, offer lessons and do on-site repairs.

When invited to go along and do an interview about music - we thought it was a bad idea.

So we're bringing actual music from there instead!

The BBC Hereford & Worcester Musicians' Masterclass

The BBC Hereford & Worcester Musicians' Masterclass
As part of this year's Worcester Music Festival, we brought our ever-popular Musicians' Masterclass to The Hive in Worcester - putting together a panel of industry experts to answer those all important questions, such as:
  • How do I get signed?
  • Is there an easy way to land gigs in other areas?
  • How do I build a fanbase?
  • What's the best way to sell your music?

This week's question comes from Redditch singer/songwriter Lucy May Walker - who wants to know exactly what radio stations she should be targeting.

Andrew Marston answers that question, along with Scott Garrett from MAS Records.

BBC Introducing in Redditch

BBC Introducing in Redditch
BBC Introducing in Hereford & Worcester supports unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar musicians from Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Since 2011, we've been taking the show out on-the-road showcasing the very best musicians from our two counties.

Our next recording session takes place on Sunday 30 November at Death Or Glory Records in Redditch and features four acts who we've been playing on BBC Hereford & Worcester recently.

This is your chance to see how we capture live music on tape, while being able to enjoy some of the hottest new acts we've got in our area right now.

None of these artists knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they uploaded to us.

It's free to get in - and the session takes place between 2pm and 6pm.
