Bromsgrove's Aaron Yorke's musical career began in 1998 when he performed regular shows at Ronnie Scott's in Birmingham.

Back then, he supported acts such as Tom Robinson, Pooka and Tom Hingley.

In 2007, he won a competition for the best unplugged act in the Midlands and went on to play alongside Leona Lewis, McFly and Scouting For Girls.

He also appeared on BBC Children In Need with David Gray, Annie Lennox and Kylie Minogue.

Fast forward to today and Aaron's just been played nationally on the Best Of BBC Introducing - and we were honoured to have him play on our stage at Lakefest.

The BBC Hereford & Worcester Musicians' Masterclass

The BBC Hereford & Worcester Musicians' Masterclass
As part of this year's Worcester Music Festival, we brought our ever-popular Musicians' Masterclass to The Hive in Worcester - putting together a panel of industry experts to answer those all important questions, such as:
  • How do I get signed?
  • Is there an easy way to land gigs in other areas?
  • How do I build a fanbase?
  • How do you write a number one song?
  • What's the best way to sell your music?

The guest panel included: Martin Chambers (The Pretenders), Verden Allen (Mott The Hoople), Nigel Clark (Dodgy), Tom Oliver (Tour Manager), Ella Nozworthy (Nozstock), Brian Marr (The Marr's Bar), Steve Hadley (Death Or Glory Records) and Scott Garrett (MAS Records).

Hear highlights from the workshop every Saturday from 8pm here on BBC Hereford & Worcester.

LakeFest is a relatively new music festival taking place on the Worcestershire border, near Evesham, at Bredon Hardwick.

Snap!, Fun Lovin' Criminals and The Lightning Seeds all played at this year's event.

BBC Hereford & Worcester had a stage at the festival for the three days, showcasing local talent from Herefordshire & Worcestershire.

The BBC Hereford & Worcester stage at SnodFest

The BBC Hereford & Worcester stage at SnodFest

BBC Introducing in Hereford & Worcester supports unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar musicians from Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Since 2011, we've been taking the show out on-the-road showcasing the very best musicians from our two counties.

Our next recording session takes place on Saturday 13 September at SnodFest near Pershore and features four acts who we've been playing on BBC Hereford & Worcester recently.

Artists include: LOSTatHOME (Redditch), Steffan Knight (Whitchurch nr Ross-on-Wye), Jake Of Diamonds (Hereford) and Hanna*h* (Broadway nr Evesham).

This is your chance to see how we capture live music on tape, while being able to enjoy some of the hottest new acts we've got in our area right now.

None of these artists knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they uploaded to us.
