Matt Envy is a club DJ & Producer based in Hereford.

He began producing tracks, in his bedroom, at the age of 17 and started DJing in 2005 as a route to getting his tracks heard in clubs.

His sound takes elements of progressive house and trance, electro house and main room, often combined with catchy vocal top lines.

Big sounds and equally big vocals are a common theme in his music, with strong melodic elements also.

Vocalist and songwriter Lucia Nicole is often featured on his more recent productions and joined him on stage at the Nozstock Festival.

Lakefest

Lakefest

LakeFest is a relatively new music festival taking place on the Worcestershire border, near Evesham, at Bredon Hardwick.

Snap!, Fun Lovin' Criminals and The Lightning Seeds are all playing at this year's event.

BBC Hereford & Worcester has a stage at the festival for the three days, showcasing local talent from Herefordshire & Worcestershire.

This month, we whisk you back in time to the Land That Noz Forgot.

Jurassic Farm was the theme at this year's Nozstock Festival, which takes place annually near Bromyard.

The event started 17 years as a family BBQ but has grown into Herefordshire & Worcestershire's largest music festival.

As always, BBC Hereford & Worcester was on-hand to take over the Garden Stage on the Sunday afternoon.

Robert Plant

Robert Plant

Worcestershire's rock legend Robert Plant has had a career in music spanning almost 50 years now, and the creativity is still flowing.

He's just about to release a new album, Lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar, and is busy with the latest Led Zeppelin reissues.

But he still remembers his Worcestershire roots - and in fact he popped into BBC Hereford & Worcester for a chat about what he's up to, and what he loves about the area.

The BBC Hereford & Worcester Musicians' Masterclass

The BBC Hereford & Worcester Musicians' Masterclass

For the last nine years, BBC Hereford & Worcester has been an active part of our local music festivals - putting on bands and gigs, recording for broadcast - passing some of the best acts onto national radio and securing them slots at some of the biggest events in the country.

This year, we're bringing our ever-popular Musicians' Masterclass to Worcester - putting together a panel of industry experts to answer those all important questions, such as:

  • How do I get signed?
  • Is there an easy way to land gigs in other areas?
  • How do I build a fanbase?
  • How do you write a number one song?
  • What's the best way to sell your music?

This is a FREE seated event, where - upon application for tickets - people are encouraged to submit a question to the panel to address. A variety of these will be discussed at the event, before opening the floor up for questions (in a style similar to that of the BBC's Question Time). This will be recorded for broadcast and transmitted over a number of weeks.

The guest panel includes: Martin Chambers (The Pretenders), Verden Allen (Mott The Hoople), Nigel Clark (Dodgy), Tom Oliver (Tour Manager), The Marr's Bar (Music Venue), Death Or Glory Records (Record Store) and Scott Garrett (MAS Records).
