Ellen Louise is a 19-year-old singer/songwriter from Redditch who released her first EP last year.

She’s a big fan of Gabrielle Aplin - of course, another BBC Introducing star, plus artists such as Joni Mitchell, City & Colour and Fleetwood Mac.

Ellen will be heading off to the college of music in Leeds in September where she plans to write and record more material.

BabaJack

BabaJack

BabaJack, from Malvern, are riding a wave of success in the blues world at the moment as they secure more festival headline slots, as well as a supporting Status Quo and a date at the Royal Albert Hall for the autumn.

We catch up with Becky Tate and Trevor Steger shortly after returning from a tour of Bavaria and en-route to Blues On The Farm Festival down in West Sussex.

The band also reveal plans for a double header gig with Lloyd Grossman’s band, New Forbidden, in Malvern towards the end of the year.

Bromyard Folk Festival

Bromyard Folk Festival

Bromyard Folk Festival will bring 170 hours of entertainment to the town over the weekend of Friday, 12th September to Sunday, 14th September.

Danni chats to organiser Lynne Barker about what it takes to organise a festival in today’s climate, both in the economic and in the weather sense, as well as details of the local artists playing there this year.

Charity Gig

Charity Gig

Former BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Artist of the Year finalists Granny's Attic, from Worcester, returned to their old high school, this week, for a concert in aid of St Richard's Hospice.

They caught up with BBC Hereford & Worcester beforehand and melodeon player Cohen explained exactly what his instrument is and how it works, as well as talking about their experiences of playing live in Herefordshire & Worcestershire over the past couple of years.

Andy O’Hare also headed down to review the charity gig at Bishop Perowne College in Worcester.

The BBC Hereford & Worcester stage at the Nozstock Festival

The BBC Hereford & Worcester stage at the Nozstock Festival
BBC Introducing in Hereford & Worcester supports unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar musicians from Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Since 2011, we've been taking the show out on-the-road showcasing the very best musicians from our two counties.

Our next recording session takes place on Sunday 3 August at The Nozstock Festival and features four acts who we've been playing on BBC Hereford & Worcester recently.

This is your chance to see how we capture live music on tape, while being able to enjoy some of the hottest new acts we've got in our area right now.

None of these artists knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they uploaded to us.
