Festivals

Throughout the whole of this month, we're bringing you the acts we chose to play at this year's Droitwich Music & Arts Festival.
It's a decade since this event began - and this year there's music on various stages throughout the town, in the shopping centres and at the Norbury Theatre.
In former years, this has also coincided with the Droitwich Water Festival.
This is the 10th anniversary of the event - and it appears that Droitwich runs for longer than any of our other festivals in Herefordshire & Worcestershire!

In Session

Paul Daron is a jack of all trades.
He's been a dustman in Herefordshire, repaired musical instruments in London and has just become a teacher.
He's also a wedding singer based in Hereford - but in his spare time writes for a band he was once in, two years ago.
But he now feel's the time is right to release those songs - even though the band is no more...
All of our live studio sessions and festival gigs since 2005

A Worcestershire composer is doing a series of gigs this month with a band he put together for a multi-award winning Hollywood movie.
Neville Farmer, who put together the music for Channel 4's Lonely Planet, was asked to write some tracks for a western - and ended up starring in the movie himself!
The Fishkillers are made up of three musicians from Bewdley and one from Fishkill in New York and appear in the bar scene as themselves.
The production company behind West Of Thunder are now using some of the money it's earned to build a school in one of the poorest and most remote areas of America.

On The Record

A Worcester filmmaker's series looking at music production in the county has proven to be so successful, he's launched a second series!
Jim Lowe's On The Record documents what life's like on the road for our local industry professionals.
This week, we catch up with Gary Tolley, from the Malvern band Stompin' On Spiders - who takes us back to his early days, including music lessons with the Sound On Sound Editor Paul White.
