Sessions

This month, we returned to Ross-on-Wye to showcase some of our favourite acts right now, recording for broadcast at John Kyrle High School.

The music department has undergone a series of changes in the last four years - and it's now home to a complex of high-end recording studios and state-of-the-art equipment.

NowWhat! are a collaboration between a number of instrumental people in the local music scene.

Lofty has spent 20 years in the music scene, fronts up Dubmerge, plus teaching rapping and DJ workshops to underprivileged children.

Andy Passman run Naughty But Nice in Hereford, giving early gigs to the likes of Judge Jules, Sonique, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Paul Van Dyk and Sister Bliss.

Beth Downes comes from the same family as Muchuu - one of the most hotly tipped groups in recent years, and featured in a hip-hop group with Lofty.

Neil used to DJ at the Crystal Rooms and six years ago taught himself how to write house music.

Hear their amazing story and some of their sick beats on this week's show!

Are you at the cutting edge of new music - and feel your sound represents the sound of Worcestershire right now?

Because a local promoter is putting together a compilation of the best local artists - and says this will be the last in the trilogy.

Albi Samuals, of Worcester Rock City, is hoping to put out 1000 free CDs this summer as a means to promote gig nights in Worcester.

BBC Introducing Musicians' Masterclass
If you're a budding solo artist, an MC, or just started a brand new band then you should check out BBC Introducing Musicians' Masterclasses.

On Thursday 21 March, we visited various locations across the UK - Glasgow, Belfast, London, Salford & Cardiff. DJs from all over BBC Radio, music industry experts and artists got together to host a day of sessions, workshops and masterclasses.

On the guestlist at Maida Vale were Worcester's Shaun Williams, Malvern's 5parks, Bromyard's Tenz, Droitwich's Case Closed and Bewdley's Barbarix.

Invited to Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff were Hereford's Daniel & The Scandals, Kidderminster's Lauren Wright and man-of-many-Worcester-bands Pete Adams.

We covered everything from song writing & MC workshops to promoting your music & making the most of your Twitter accounts.

We also heard from successful artists about their own musical journeys. Our special guests included Ben Howard, Aluna George, Wretch 32, Devlin, Angel, Japanese Popstars, Phil Kieran, Badly Drawn Boy and the Manic Street Preachers.

This week, we hear from Janice Long - who, together with a panel of experts, answers a series of questions - including a question from Worcester's Pete Adams.

Slash described them as "ones to watch out for" and now Adam Ant has picked up on them!

New Killer Shoes, from Redditch, will be touring all over the UK with the '80s star after entering a competition on his website.

They've recently come back from a European support tour, too - and are hoping the exposure from such events will result in big sales of their new album, which is out a week next Monday.
