Mike Bubbins: Welsh Learner

The highs and lows of comedian Mike Bubbins' attempt to learn Welsh in one year, with the help of friends, family and a diverse range of people who are learning the language.

Comedian and actor Mike Bubbins promised his daughter that he will learn to speak Welsh in one year. Join him and a cast of celebrities, learners, friends and family as Mike accepts the challenge of learning the language.

He interviews Sir Gareth Edwards in Welsh about his career, recruits Eleri Sion to help him write a St Dwynwen's day card for his wife, and visits Welsh reggae star Aleighcia Scott to compare notes on learning the language. Mike has a go at mastering circus skills, drawing cartoons, visits a Welsh language residential centre in Lampeter, before attending Tafwyl, Cardiff's Welsh-language festival, with the aim of speaking Welsh all day.

On his first return to Gladstone primary school in Barry, Mike reflects on his upbringing and education, and stresses how important it was to him and his wife to send their children to a Welsh-medium school, and why he is now determined to be able to speak Welsh with them.
